    3. I am interested in any information about any ancestors or descendants of Augustus Kemp (we believe this may have been a census-takers corruption of "Kempf") who had a son Edward who may have moved westward. Augustus and his wife Josephine Barbara Mitchell Kemp were both born (according to their census record in 1860) in France. Had a son Edward Leo, the first of several Edwards in the family. Edward Leo had a son, Jesse John Kempf, who was born in Somerset, Ohio, on 12/21/1875. Others who may have beens born in Ohio also are: Otto Kempf, possibly a brother Carl, and Edward Leo's wife, Annie Levering. I'd appreciate any information anyone has about any of these people. Thanks

    1. Re: KEMP's in Iowa
    2. I have Kemp relatives in Iowa. I am pretty much a novice at this so I do not have much info other than my immediate line. Someone else replied to me and even sent me a whole packet of Kemp family lineage so hopefully they will reply to you. It was a great help in finding my line. I did find my Grandfather listed in that packet (F.Rex Kemp-deceased now, lived in Vinton where a lot of my relatives live now). I lived in Marion/Cedar Rapids area. Our line moved to North Carolina and now I am in California. If you would like more info to see if our lines intersect anywhere, feel free to correspond. Kim Kemp Carlson [email protected]

    2. Robert Young
    3. Kathy, I'm not sure where you obtained this information, but it is not accurate. Judith Kempe, who married Hanry Birdsall, is NOT a descendent of the Kemp lineage you have listed. I show Judith as the daughter of Stephen and Agnes (Alexander) Kempe, born in Norwich, Norfolk, England. Judith never was in Salem, Mass, having died before Henry sailed for America with his children. Henry and Judith were married June 1610 at St. Stephen's in Norwich. The Kemp line you have listed has been well researched. William (1) Kemp on your list was born 1487 in Wye, Kent; died 1539. His son, Thomas, married Amy Moyle. He died in Wye, Kent in 1590. His son, Thomas, was born in Wye, Kent in 1551, and died in 1607. Thomas and Dorothy (Thompson) Kemp did not have a daughter named Judith or Agnes. Concerning the ancestry of Stephen Kemp, Judith's father, I have not yet found anything on this family. Best Regards, Robert Young, Secretary Kemp Family Association [email protected]

    1. Re: KEMP <fwd>
    2. Greetings, I am contacting you with regard to KEMP and their reunion. I am not able to attend the reunion, however, I recently learned that my gggggrandmother was a KEMP. Would you please forward this message to KEMP's or if you are a KEMP, please advise me. Arabella KEMP's first marriage was to a John BETTS and he died two years later. She then married a Daniel DOGGETT my ggggrandfather.. Arabella KEMP, (father possibly Thomas Kemp, wittness on both her marriages) and was married both times in Tibenham, Norfolk had two children by Betts and they were bapt in Aslacton Parish and are listed in the church register. When she married Daniel DOGGETT, they lived in Winfarthing and when she died, she died in Bramfield, Suffolk and was buried in Winfarthing, February 17, 1849. She was born in 1764.. I do not know anything about her and would like to learn more. According to the 1841 Census, it says she was not born in Norfolk. The dates are as follows: Arabella was married to John BETTS on Oct 7, 1782 (he died in 1784) and they had two children: John Thomas BETTS and Harriot Jane BETTS. On May 22, 1788 she married Daniel DOGGETT and they had several children. Would you please direct me to someone who might have information? I appreciate your time and effort. 3. Hi Folks, Just a reminder that our first International Reunion will be April 9-12, 1999, at Christ Church College in Canterbury, England. All members should have received a mailing about this wonderful chance to meet fellow Kemp's. If you have not received a brochure, let me know, and one will be sent right out. If you are planning to attend, but have not yet registered, please drop me a note. Shelagh Mason needs to begin finalising plans with the College for rooming requirements. 1. Kempball?
    2. Sue O'Donnell
    3. Greetings, I am trying to figure out whether the Kimball-L list is the right one for researching this name or the Kemp-L list. The person I am trying to find was born James (possibly looks like "Janus" too) Edward KEMPBALL born in 1888 in "Pueblo, Arizona". He was my mother's real father and my mother was put up for adoption at the age of 9 months and has never been able to find him. He may have changed his named to CAMPBELL, as a business card with the name Gilbert N. Campbell is attached to her birth cert. (which she got from her step-mother before she died). Gilbert N. CAMPBELL was found in the Shreveport, LA 1927 directory as a manager of an automobile dealearship. If anyone knows of who this may be or where I should look, please let me know. I've about given up on this one I fear. Many thanks for any assistance.
