    1. Day 3 of True Family Research
    2. Hello, For those of you who are reading this letter I would like to say that well "Tonights the Night!" If you have or will send in A meaning Any Gedcom file that has a practicle amount of individuals in it then you will be the very lucky ones! It will provide you with any easy to use database that will provide you with the same power it has given me and that is to help people! I love looking up things fo people it is only that I don't work for free and when i say that i mean I am not asking for money i ask for a contribute like a gedcom to where i can add it to my database and i will not have to try to retype what you send threw e-mail this way it is already typed no work at all which leaves me with more time to help and help and continue helping all i can to researchers like those who have been most fortunate enough to recieve this letter you may have thought that this gedcom was never going to come and that this moment was all just a lie and that I would take advantage of you people but like I have said before, Even though nobody ever believed me, "I am not like that I do not lie and I would never do anything to hurt anyone that has not already hurt me! But lets get back to the point researching my tree all the way down to the deepest roots which is covered up with so much dirt requires help from people like you to help dig little by little some of that dirt away.So like I saidbefore congradulations on you taking that oppertunity of contributing and I hope you will find my database useful to you when it come at eight o' clock eastern time tonight.

    1. Find every Kemp in the 1870 Census
    2. FYI: If you want to find every KEMP in the 1870 census you can search the new CD indexes. You can get them by state ($29.95 to $39.95 depending on the state) or get the entire US set (25 CD's on sale for $449.25...reg. $748.75). These are great indexes. You can search by surname alone or include modifiers: place of birth, ethnicity, state, county or town. You can even search on KEMP as a first name. Instantly the answers come back. What a great index. Wish I had this when I started on my Kemp line. Call Heritage Quest at 1-800-760-2455 to order.

    3. Tresa, I am especially interested in the information you posted today regarding the descendants of Johnathan Kemp and Sally Womack. I check out the site listed on your last message to the List, as well as the information on WorldConnect. I have been searching for my gg-grandfather, David Kemp, who appeared on the Jackson Parish, LA 1850 census with his wife, Mary, and their three children. I noticed that you indicated that Isaac Kemp had a son named David, born in 1817, which would have been about right for my David. Then you list his brother, Thomas Kemp, as having been born in Jackson Parish, LA. That got my attention! Do you have any other information on this David? His three children were listed as Jennet, Caroline, and Mary L. He appears on the 1860 Ouachita Co., AR census with a different wife, Emily, and a son named Hillery, who was born in Arkansas. My g-grandmother was David's daughter, Mary L., who married William T. Lenox. Thanks so much for sharing! Marjorie

I just wanted to tell you that you have said in words what I have thought ever since I started researching my family hstory. I have been totally confused by the lack of shareing of genealogical information by many people who actually have the audacity to state that they have knowledge but will keep it secret. My theory is that such individuals suffer from feelings of inferiority and their secretivness gives them a sense of power. I believe they enjoy their smugg rightessness however misplaced that may be and so , their time is not worth my time....or yours! I have been trying for almost ten years to validate or at least find some kind of information leading me to find the parents of my ggggrandfather; Seth Brush Downs, born , I believe in North Castle, Westchester County, N.Y. in 1816. He married in Greenwich, Ct. in 1835 to Amy Scofield. Seth died in Greenwich. My theory is that his parents were Silas Smth Downs of North Castle and Lucy Ann Brush of Stanwich, Ct. Although this contradicts his deathcertificate which gives hs parents ( in almost illegible scrawl ) as Wm. and Amy, I have never found anything anywhere to back that up and feel that whoever filled out that death certificate asked someone presen

    3. Hi List, I am working on the descendants of Jonathan Kemp and his two wives Sally Womack and Elizabeth Cox. The information I have so far is on WorldConnect in a file called Tresa and also on my Kemp page within my genealogy web site at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~tresa. These sites get updated at least four times a year as I find new information to add to my databases. I say databases because my file got to big to handle and I split it. Now one file is as big as the one I split it out of. It is a little cumbersome, but only because I include photos and scanned documents in the database. Uploading everything to the net does take time, but I have been rewarded many times over by having people contact me with thank yours for helping them 'find' their history and add their information to the compilation. Genealogy is about making connections, both alive and dead. There are always bad apples in both. Let's do as the list administrator reminded us and get back to finding those elusive ancestors and distant cousins, that just one day may give us all the information we could have ever wanted. I have been recieving a number of letters that have asked me to look someone up I will take all those letters into consideration and in two days when i send this big gedcom out to those people who have at least offered some support by giving a date or two are those who will recieve the gedcom. You may not think that this is fair but read the letter at the bottm of the page and you will see why i feel this way about the people who offered no support at all! Now on another note let me make clear to everybody one thing If you send me your gedcom i will add it in to this tree that i making it is called the "Cascading Family Tree" It has, As we speak, 54,147 individuals in it. And in two days i will send it to every person that has either gave me a ged com file or that has wrote to me telling me information to add to this family file. So think about what i am saying and reflect on how you react and make sure you read the letter at the bottom of the page it is written to one of the lists about the last letter I sent out! You should keep that thought in mind! Here is the letter that was written to another list about my first letter that had sent out: "You know I never could understand all this. Why the secrets?? 3. You have got to be kidding! I gave my database out once to someone that said basically the same things you are saying. I asked him not to give the information to others because I knew there were mistakes in the information. One day while surfing the web I found MY information on several pay sites, and on rootsweb, mistakes and all. I wrote to the guy and asked for my information to be taken off and got a reply "If it is yours you take it off". With that I became agree and went to his web page and wrote everyone that had posted messages to his message board. I also wrote to the sites where I had found my information posted and sent them the correspondence between myself and the thief. They removed the information from there sites. This person also had about 20,000 names in his database and could not give me an answer on one source used for two ancestors I had asked about. My policy has become never give out my entire database. If someone asks about a certain line I am more than willing to give them sources I used and any notes I have but will never again set myself up for another NAME COLLECTOR. I would also like to add that the thief was a CAMP/KEMP researcher. 3. We have recently had a rash of postings re collecting gedcoms on the KFA email list. Though the initial intent I'm sure was innocent, most people no longer trust sending their gedcoms to an unknown source ... we've seen our work pop up on too many sites we had no desire for them to be. This list is for those seeking their Kemp ancestors. Should 2 people connect with a common ancestor, then of course trading info is appropriate. I would like to request that further discussion on the mass collecting of gedcoms cease and that we consider this topic closed. While I'm at it, would like to say that every once in awhile we receive ads posted on this list. Rootsweb tries to prevent them from appearing (You have no idea how many you don't see ... but as Owner of the List I see them), but sometimes hackers slip them by us. Sorry. 2. Hello, I have been doing a family tree for quite some time now, and if you think about it you will see that there are so many people that are related to you. For example my family was all in the same area my entire family from generations and generations back have all been born, raised, lived, and died in Delaware and if you think about it like I do that means that most people in the Kent County, Delaware Area are related to me somehow! That is quite amazing. But if you think about how large the Internet is..... Well you just may see where my finger is pointed! I see it this way with all the people on the Internet there must be someone out there that can help bring more and more connections to my family! So I am asking everybody out there to help me. I know that some people are skeptical about sending there "gedcom" to other people but you know if you take a chance on me I will guarantee that if there are no connections between us then I will delete your gedcom file! So I would like everybody that has received this letter to send in a gedcom file of theirs and In return I will send you a copy of my database which has almost 20,000 people in it and this is no joke they are not all related to me but somehow threw marriages and ect they have a connection to me. So please let us all trade info and find connections among us! In about three days after receiving everybody's Info I will send mine and let you search threw it under one condition if you find a connection let me know! Thank you so much for your time. 2. Hello, I have been recently doing a family tree. My mother is a Rash I have traced it back like eight generations to a David Rash who married a Joanna Moore. I was wondering what connection you have to the surname Rash. A big Rash Family is the Daniel Rash and Ruth Muncie Family. Most people are from this Rash Family. Recently I have been trying to link their tree to mine. I have had no luck. I am pretty sure that my David Rash’s father is a Andrew Rash. I have found that Daniel Rash had a brother named Andrew Rash and have been trying to get info on him but no luck there either. Please reply to this message and tell me your connection to the Rash family maybe we can link ourselves. I f you have any info on David Rash who married Joanna Moore PLEASE let me know, It is very important! And if you have any info on any Andrew Rash please let me know. Thank you so much for your time and cooperation. From, [email protected]
