My name is Rosalie Kimmerly and I have been researching the Kammerer/Cammerer/ Kimmerly name for several years. Here's what I have. 1760: Jacob Andreas Kumerling (Cammerling on 1763 Baptism record) married at Albany, NY; 31 May 1760 to Anna Barbara Aehn. children: Caterina Kammerlon/Cammerling born: 17 Feb 1763 parents: Jacob Cammerling & Maria Barbara Andreas Kummerling/Kumerling born: 29 Jan 1765 parents: Jacob Andreas Kumerling & Barbara Johann Jacob Cammerer/Cammrer Born: 20 Dec. 1866 parents: Jacob Kammrer & Barbara Maria Barbara Cammerer/Caemmerer born: 30 September 1769 parents: Jacob Andreas Caemmerer Children were born in Trinity Lutheren Church in Stone Arabia, Montgomery Co., NY or Dutch Reformed Church in Stone Arabia, Montgomery Co., NY. Andrew, the son of Jacob and Barbara joined the Kings Royal Regiment of NY and after the Rev War had to migrate to Ontario, Canada, where there is a large Kimmerly family. Why did the family name change to Kimmerly/Kimerly? We have letters from a great grandmother that the name was originally Kammerer and that they came from Germany.
