Looking for ancestors and descendants of Edward Kelly (or Kelley) who was born in Ireland probably between 1820 and 1850. Where he was born in Ireland is not known. He married Mary (surname unknown) in Ireland. Edward and his wife had at least two children. One was a boy who became a Catholic priest. The other was my grandmother, Mary Kelly, who was born about 1873. Mary was orphaned at an early age and was brought to the USA (Port of NY) in 1876. I have found records of a Mary Kelly who came to USA as an infant on board the ship “Scythia”, which arrived in NY on May 4, 1876 from Liverpool, England. Mary was accompanied by a matron named Mrs. P.B. Kelly. I assume Mrs. P. B. Kelly was a wife of a relative of my grandmother. In the early 1890s, Mary Kelly married Thomas Hoary and they had eight or nine children. To the best of my knowledge, they always lived in Brooklyn, N.Y.
