Hi everyone! Now that I have more info on my Kelly's I thought I would repost my names: Dennis Kelly and his wife Margaret Ahearn Kelly came from Ireland to NY approx. 1870/71 with two children I am sure of, Ellen Kelly born aprox. 1862 and Michael born aprox. 1850. I believe there was another son in btw. Edward. Michael was killed in NYC July 12, 1871 at the Orangeman Day Parade. One newspaper account, I think the Times, says he was shot in the heart, the other, The Irish World says he was shot in the face. He was 21 yrs old and a laborer. That horrible incident was also known as the "Hoffman Massacre" and various other names. Fifty something people were murdered that day in NYC, mostly Irish. Ellen went on to marry Martin John McNamara aprox. 1881. They had eight children, 5 of which survived childhood. They were John b.1882, Margaret b. 1884, Martin b. 1886, Hanorah b 1893, and William b. 1895. After NYC they moved to Brooklyn where Martin John died in 1910 shortly before his 65th birthday and Ellen died in 1911 at the age of 49. That's all I have at the moment. If anyone is familar with any of these Kellys I would be glad to hear from you. Happy hunting! Cathy
