    3. and others on email list..... Dear Kyle, Thank you for contacting me. Perhaps there is a connection. NO one to my knowledge has been able to find parents for Lawrence Kelly. Nor do we know of brothers or sisters. Surely he must of had. It would be very uncommon for a family during those years to have had only one child. I feel there is an answer out there somewhere and one day we will find out more. How interesting the facts you tell me. We need to work together and share more information in order to answer some of these questions. Could you please give me more details on your Kelly family. Please be more specific! My Lawrence Kelly, his wife, and the families of thier children went to Blue Lick, Monroe Twp., Clark County, Indiana. It is beleived they took a flat boat down the Ohio River or went by horse & wagon along the river banks and landed at Utica. Some arrived as early as 1810 and the others came shortly after. Tho it is hard to be certain, It is beleived that all were in this general location by 1820. The 1820 Census shows Lawrence Kelly in Clark County Indiana, also youngest son Davis Kelly. The others are hard to tell for certain. Because those early census do not list names of other family members in household we can't really determine which John Kelly or William Kelly belongs to who. Note there are other John and William Kellys there in Clark County. I did take notice of the Anthony Kelly in the census record for 1820. I would love to know more about him and his family and those related to them. Maybe there is something to find. Interesting that your family left Clark County and went to Johnson County Indiana. What year did they leave Clark and which persons? Some of my Kelly line went to Bartholomew County Indiana. A few early in 1839 and then others by 1850. Some also went to Morgan and Decatur county. All are near neighbors to Johnson County. Is there something to this? If your family left Clark County around the same years, I wonder what was the reason. According to Daniel Guernsey, he wrote in his diary that there was lack of food and much hardship after 1838. Davis Kelly died in Azilia, Bartholomew Co., Indiana. Supposedly he drownd in a river on June 11, 1847 and is buried at the Azilia Methodist Cemetery. According to a War of 1812 record, in a Declaration of a Widow for Pension, from the National Archives, Hannah (Mills) Kelly, wife of Davis Kelly, signed and testified on this document dated March 26,1872 that she was married to Davis Kelly on the First day of December in the year 1812 by James Davis Esq. in Indiana Territory. This document was also signed by, her son in law, Dr. Benjamin F. Little, and a granddaughter, Sarah A. Carruthers. Look farward to hearing from you, and others in hopes to find other relatives and ancestors. Thanks, Tom Kelly KidClerk@aol.com wrote: > Has anyone been able to make a connection between the Lawrence Kelly that has > recently been discussed and the John Kelly, son of William and Margaret > Kelly, who married Jean Kirkham.
