Hello, I have been reading with fascination the posts about Lawrence Kelly etc. I have a William Kelley b. 1814 Virginia married Eleanor Bennett b. 1820 in Ohio. They were married in 1839 in Shelby County, Indiana, and had 11 children. The older 10 were born in Shelby County but the youngest was born in Brown County. There is a Benjamin Kelley b. 1780 in Virginia living with them in the 1860 Shelby County Census. I have William listing 3 school age children in a tax list for Shelby County in 1864 and that is the last contact I have with the family except for my great-grandfather William Perry Kelley who moved to Howard County. William and Eleanor's 3 oldest son's were of an age to have been in the civil war but can find no evidence that they did. Tis a puzzlement. Maureen Johnson (Kelly)
