My Great Great Grandfather was Thomas KELLY who is buried with his wife, Hannah KELLY, in the Burritts Rapids Christ Church Anglican [Church of England] Cemetery. It is possible that the same Church of England Family that you are researching who came to Canada from Amagh County, NRI in 1835 is the family of Thomas KELLY {My Great Great Grandfather} & his brother John KELLY. Thomas KELLY was born about 1801 and died in 1891, at the age of 90. Thomas KELLY can be found on the 1871 Census of Ontario as a Labourer of the Church of England, Anglican, religion, whose place of origin was listed as Ireland. On this 1871 Census it lists him as residing in Leeds & Grenville, North District, (070) and in the Sub-District of Oxford (E). I have placed Thomas KELLY in Oxford-on-Rideau Township, Grenville County, Ontario County as early as 1838 {When my Great-Grandfather James KELLY & his eldest son was born in Burritts Rapids}. Furthermore, I have citations from the 1840 assessment rolls & Census of Oxford-on-Rideau County that places Thomas Kelly at this same location. 1835 would be about the right time for him at the age of 34 to come to Canada via ship. My problem is that I have no information on Thomas KELLY & his family from 1838 back to Ireland. That being said, I have tons of information on Thomas KELLY & his family from 1838 to the present day, as I am directly descended from him through my paternal-line. If I had more information on Thomas KELLY & His family in Ireland I know I could probably find the ship that carried him over. I have already found several Thomas Kelly's on several different ships who came to Canada from Ireland during this time period. However, I am unaware of where he came from in Ireland & with whom. Before my father's sister {Laura KELLY Chesnutt} passed she informed me that Thomas KELLY had a brother John KELLY, but she had no information on him. I just recently discovered where Thomas KELLY was buried. According to several Oxford-on-Rideau Township Census' that I discovered, Thomas & Hannah KELLY had 15 children as follows: 1. James KELLY: My G-G-Grandfather; born 09, September, 1838 in Burritts Rapids, Oxford-On-Rideau Township, Grenville County, Upper Canada. 2. Susana KELLY: Born about 1841 in Upper Canada. 3. Mary KELLY: Born about 1842 in Upper Canada. 4. Sarah KELLY: Born about 1843 in Upper Canada. 5. Elizabeth KELLY: Born about 1845 in Upper Canada. 6. Neome or Naomi KELLY: Born about 1847 in Upper Canada. 7. Kezeth KELLY: Born about 1848 in Upper Canada. 8. Maria or Mariah KELLY: Born about 1851-1852 in Upper Canada. 9. Safia; Sofia or Sophia KELLY: Born about 1851 in Upper Canada. 10.Jemimi or Jamima KELLY: Born about 1853-1855 in Upper Canada. 11.Jerusa; Jariusa; or Jerusha KELLY: Born about 1855-1856 in Upper Canada. 12.Martha KELLY: Born about 1857 in Upper Canada. 13.William KELLY: Born about 1859 in Upper Canada. 14.Thomas KELLY: Born about 1859-1861 in Upper Canada. 15.Albert KELLY: Born about 1863-1866 in Ontario, Canada. As you can see the names that you describe in your post of James; Thomas; Elizabeth; William; & John are prominent in my KELLY family & my family is Church of England [A lot of my KELLY descendants went on to become Episcopalian Methodists & Methodists].
