    1. Most wanted KELLY, Timothy - searching for Mr. Champion
    2. Kevin Kelly
    3. Got information on this fellow from, of all places, a history book. Other researchers kindly pointed out to me a published letter from Michael H. Kelly (my granddad's cousin), son of Timothy's younger brother, John D. Kelly. I had always thought that Timothy and John had come to America (from County Cork) before the remainder of the family, but apparently they only came to WISCONSIN first - the whole family (except for their deceased father) came to the U.S. together, sometime around 1849. I am checking into naturalization records now and hope to learn which ship and when. The letter also let me know that Timothy died in an accident, asphyxiated by foul air. I am now looking for records of his daughter, Margaret, who became a Dominican nun. The Dominicans have a station at Sinsinawa, Wisconsin, which is near where the Kelly's lived in Lafayette County. Margaret may have been an orphan after Tim's death. She (I think it's her) is listed in John's house in New Diggings i! n 1870 at age 7. Our family account said that Tim and John's young sister Julia (who married Daniel Dunn, not sure yet where and when) and the youngest child Patrick (my g-g-father) stayed in Philadelphia with their mother Catharine in the home of a mining prospector. Now, thanks to the letter which was published, I believe I have the prospector's last name. Tim and John struck lead while working for someone named Champion. Does anyone have any record of this fellow? Also, are there any indexes for Philadelphia census data or Pennsylvania census data for 1850? I may have a lot of digging to do if there are not. While I am at it, if anyone has researched Kelly's and come across a Daniel Kelly (husband of Catharine Fleming Kelly and father to six children) who died in Ireland between 1837 and 1849 in County Cork, please let me know. With thanks, Kevin Patrick Kelly, g-g-son of Patrick D. Kelly and Catharine Barry Kelly
