John KELLY b. 1825 IRE m. Sarah ELLIS b. 1831 County Wicklow, IRE. They were married in CT, probably in the early 1850s. I don't know if they met before they came to the U.S. or after. They were in CT only a short time, as their second child was born in Whitewater, Walworth Co., WI in 1855. John and Sarah remained in Whitewater until their deaths in 1866 and 1897, respectively. Children of John KELLY and Sarah ELLIS: i. Mary b. 1854 CT, m. Philip ROACH b. ca 1850 MA This couple went to Douglas Co., CO. They are on the 1880 census there. John ROACH age 35 was living with them. Mary d. 1882 and is buried in St. Patrick's Calvary Cemetery in Whitewater, but Philip is not. ii. Catherine (Kate) b. 1855 Whitewater m. NICKERSON and lived in Madison, Dane Co., WI in 1897. iii. Johanna (Josephine) b. 1856 Whitewater, never married, d. 1937 iv. William b. 1858 Whitewater, m. Louise LUTHER b. 1869 IL. They were married in MO, but spent most of their lives in Davenport, IA. Louise d. 1933 IA and Wm. d. 1955 IN. v. Margaret b. 1862 Whitewater m. QUINN vi. Sarah b. 1866 d. 1868 I believe Sarah ELLIS had a sister Maria. I would like to find any info about John KELLY's birthplace, parents, or siblings, and the spouses of Catherine and Margaret KELLY. There may be some connection to GRIFFIN and BLAKE families also. I hope someone can shed some light on this family for me. Thank, Patty
