    3. Hi! Please pardon the cross posting to various lists! the family that I am researching lived for 30-40 years in Grenville County, however I have been unable to locate anything on them other than the initial marriage and census records. I know nothing about the origins of Daniel KELLEY/KELLY and Maria FLEMING/FLEMMING other than that they were both from Ireland. Could you check your 'stray' Kelly listings to see if anything appears familiar. Daniel KELLEY (ca 1800 Ireland - died between 1861-71) married Maria FLEMING (1812 Ireland -died 8 Mar 1884, Ottawa) on 08 Sep 1845 at Holy Cross RC Church in Kemptville, Ontario; the witnesses were Daniel McINTYRE and Mary Ann CROSS. They settled at Lot 24, Conc 5, Wolford Township, Grenville county from approximately 1845 to 1871. During this time there were births and deaths within the family while in Wolford Twp, but I have been unable to locate any type of records. Their children were: John born ca 1847 Michael born ca 1848 Thomas born ca 1849 Mary-Ann 1852, died 12 Oct 1900, married Wm WHALEN, 25 Nov 1888, Carleton Place James Patrick 1854, died 25 Oct 1894, marriage Margaret COLVIN, 9 Oct 1884, Almonte William F. 8 Apr 1857, died 8 Nov 1938, married 1.Margaret CLARKE 2.Laura RICARD, Arnprior 11 Oct 1893 James born 1860, died 1861? Mary Ann MERCIER, born ca 1864, living with the family by 1871 census, perhaps a relative Daniel KELLEY died sometime between the 1861 census and the 1871 census. No record has been found. Sometime after his death it is known that Maria, James, Mary Ann and William at least had taken on the KELLY spelling of the surname. I have been unable to locate siblings John, Michael and Thomas after their names disappeared from the later family census records; they may have emigrated down into the United States. It is probably just a coincidence, but the wife of a CONNOR neighbour was also a FLEMING. The family must have attended church and schools somewhere during the years they lived on the farm, but I have had no luck in locating anything on them so far. My elder cousins (almost all now deceased) have searched for over 50 years for the family. Any advise would be appreciated! -- Mary A.
