I am interested in information about my great grandfather James Manson KELLEY, born in Mississippi in 1856. His mother's name was Helen and he had a brother Cebram. Before 1860 the KELLEYs moved to Bayou Chicot Louisiana. In 1878 James married Orelia KELLER of Bayou Chicot. They had nine children, with many descendants in Louisiana. I was told that the family name had originally been O'Kelly. One of my ancestors had a disagreement with a relative. They had a fistfight and the loser had to change his name and move away. My ancestor lost. I would appreciate any information on KELLEYs in Mississippi or Louisiana.
