    1. LOOKING FOR OTHER KELLYS WHO MAY BE RELATED.
    2. Tom & Pam Kelly
    3. I'm looking for the parents for Lawrence Kelly and Martha Smith. Also all descendants. Supposedly both Lawrence and Martha were born in Pennsylvania. Lawrence Kelly (or Kelley) born about 1740 and Martha Smith born about 1742. They were married on April 8, 1767 in Pennsylvania most likely in Cumberland or Lancaster County. The exact location is not known. This marriage was performed and recorded by Rev. John Conrad Bucher. It is believed that Rev. Bucher first lived in Carlisle, PA. then moved to Lebanon, PA. around 1768. From the Annals of Buffaloe Valley, PA., Lawrence and Martha Kelly are listed as living in White Deer Township, Northumberland County, PA. in 1775. This is near Lewisburg and Kelly Point in Union County, PA. today. What was Northumberland County at the time they lived there and changed to Union County in 1813. During the Revolutionary War, Lawrence Kelly was a private in Captain John Forster's Company. This was the 1st Company in the 1st Battalion known as the Northumberland Rangers. In command of the 1st Battalion was Colonel John Kelly. It is very possible that Lawrence Kelly and Colonel John Kelly are related. How is not known. Perhaps first cousins or maybe even brothers. Colonel John Kelly was born in 1744. The town of Kelly Point is named after Colonel John Kelly. Lawrence Kelly lived in Northumberland County until about 1800. Then moved west through western Pennsylvania to Steubenville, Jefferson County, Ohio. Staying there only for a few years. Then about 1810 Lawrence and Martha Kelly along with their Sons and Daughters (Hugh, John, Abraham, Martha, Elizabeth, William, Davis) arrived in Blue lick, Monroe Township, Clark County, Indiana. Where Lawrence and Martha both died in September of 1823 and are buried at Mountain Grove Cemetery. Anyone who has knowledge about the Kelly or Smith Families in Pennsylvania during the 1700's or anyone who feels they maybe related to Lawrence and Martha Kelly may contact me. 3. Looking for ancestors and descendants of Edward Kelly (or Kelley) who was born in Ireland probably between 1820 and 1850. Where he was born in Ireland is not known. He married Mary (surname unknown) in Ireland. Edward and his wife had at least two children. One was a boy who became a Catholic priest. The other was my grandmother, Mary Kelly, who was born about 1873. Mary was orphaned at an early age and was brought to the USA (Port of NY) in 1876. I have found records of a Mary Kelly who came to USA as an infant on board the ship “Scythia”, which arrived in NY on May 4, 1876 from Liverpool, England. Mary was accompanied by a matron named Mrs. P.B. Kelly. I assume Mrs. P. B. Kelly was a wife of a relative of my grandmother. In the early 1890s, Mary Kelly married Thomas Hoary and they had eight or nine children. To the best of my knowledge, they always lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. Any information on Edward Kelly, his wife Mary, or Mrs. P.B. Kelly would be appreciated. Ken Brickner e-mail: brickner@homenet.lm.com

    1. Elias Kelly SC.AL
    2. Jennefer, I think it is very likely we are looking for the same Kellys. In 1840 census, my gggrandfather JOEL KELLY was in Pickens District, SC in house 356; with Solomon, Patrick, Andrew and Benjamine living nearby. In 1830, Joel was in House 281, with James and Andrew nearby. In 1820, there is a Joel Kelley in Laurens Co, SC but an Andrew, ELISHA, James, Joseph, Patrick, Sarah, and William in Pendleton District (Pickens was formed out of Pendleton) In 1810, Pendleton District has ELISHA, John, Joseph, Nimrod, and Reuben In 1800, only Daniel was in Pendleton, but I think the extreme western tip of SC may have been Indian Territory still. My Joel and his family lived near Walhalla at 'Fort' Madison which was an outpost and most folks in the area are not even aware it was there. In any event, it is just across the Tugaloo River from Georgia. In 1790, 96 District listed a Daniel, Elijah, Samuel, Andrew, James, John, et al I have not been able to attach my Joel to any of these though I feel there is a relationship, and since a Joel turned up in your family, maybe we will find out together. By the way, there are also several Samuels scattered throughout the censuses. Many of them spelled Kelley.. I just quickly wrote down names that I thought may be connected, so this is just a scanty list at best. Good luck, I'll be looking closely at the response you receive.

    1. Re: Elias Kelly SC, AL
    2. Jennifer, I'm also trying to figure out the Kellys in Madison Co., AL having just discovered that my ancestor James Kelly was living there in 1828. He was apparently the son of John Kelly and the brother of Hampton, George and John Jr. who were mentioned in a land deed regarding John Sr.'s property. I'll keep a look out for Elijah and Jenny Weeks. I think I saw something on them. Regards, Ed.

    3. Hello everyone. I'm new to this list (I've been a member of the KELLEY list for a while) and hope someone out there can help me. I am seeking info on Elias (Elisha?) Kelly and Marianne Jennie Weeks (Meeks?). They were married, possibly in SC, because their son Marion Samuel Kelly was born there. Their son, Marion Samuel Kelly, married Julia V. Inman. Here's what I have on them: Marion Samuel Kelly Born: 1843 Where: South Carolina Married: 1866 Died: 1889 Where: Madison County, AL Julia V. Inman Born:1850 Where: Missouri Died: 193? Where: Madison County, AL 2nd Spouse:R.W. "Dick" Carmichael Glover Married- l - 16- 1892 Marion and Julia were the parents of my great grandfather Joel Samuel Kelly, who was married to Delilah Glover: Joel Samuel Kelly Born: 10-12-1868 Where: Madison County, AL Married: 11-19-1885 Died: 6-14-1939 Where: Gorman, TX Delilah Glover Born: 1-27-1869 Where: Madison County, AL Died: 2-19-1952 Where: Madison County, AL I have info on all generations after Joel and Delilah, but have reached a brick wall with Elias and Jennie. 3. I'll try this posting again. It's been awhile. Looking for siblings, parents, ancestors, immigration information on Thomas H. Kelly, b. 1845, NY, d. ?, m. Maria(h) Ryan, b. 1847, Canada, d. ?. In the 1880 Census, Thomas and Maria were found living in Yonkers, NY. He was listed as a bartender. They had five children: George, b. 1869; Kittie, b. 1871; Alice, b. 1874; Frank, b. 1875; and Charles A., b. 23 Jul 1878, d. 7 Dec 1965. The census also indicates that both Maria's and Thomas' parents were born in Ireland. Family history has it that George was the contractor that built Yonkers City Hall. Charles A. married Mae V. Brennen of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. They lived in Yonkers most of their lives. Charles retired from the Yonkers Fire Dept. as a Captain. He was known in Yonkers as "Cap Kelly". Charles and Mae had two children, Charles C. Kelly and Mildred (Kelly) Eremerich. Any information on this family will be greatly appreciated. Gary Skarka

    3. Looking for siblings of James Kelly & Ann Shortel. James: born early 1830's reportedly in Cork, Ireland. Ann: born about 1836 in Ireland. They were married in 1858 in Jo Daviess County, IL. Ann died in 1907 in Jamestown, ND. James might have come to U.S. around 1848. Since most families back in the 1800's were rather large, I must assume each had brothers & sisters. Anyone have relatives where these names appear? Harold Kelly hkelly@means.net
