Hello: I am seeking descendants of brothers Joseph, Jesse and Harry Kelly. They were borne to Lewis Blair Kelly (1878) and Julia Gilhuyser of Indiana County, PA. According to Julia's 1949 obit, Joseph lived in Zanesville, OH, and Jesse and Harry lived in Pittsburgh, PA. The obit mentioned grandchildren, leading one to believe that there would be descendants. Please contact me if this sounds like your family. Kathy Kelly

Here is my Roll Call: I am searching for any information on the surname TOMPKINS & KELLY from anyone who may be descendants or have any information on TOMPKINS & KELLY in KENT County from about the 1830's to the present. For some reason these TOMPKINS & KELLY's migrated from the Grenville County area possibly sometime between 1851 and 1871. Does any one know what the connection between Grenville County and Kent County might be & why there were a number of families who migrated between these two counties during this time frame? My TOMPKIN' s ancestor, Nathan TOMPKINS [My G-G-Grandfather], who is buried in lot # 346 Evergreen Cemetery, Blenhiem, Harwich township, Kent County, Ontario was born in 1796 & died at the age of 81 years on May 1, 1879. Nathan's wife Rebecca TOMPKINS is also buried in lot # 346 in the same cemetery and she died May 2, 1879 at the age of 82 years. My KELLY ancestors In Kent County were Nathan Tompkins KELLY [My Grandfather] who was born in Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario on 24, August, 1867. His father, James KELLY, [My G-G-Grandfather] was born 09, September, 1838, in Burritts Rapids, Grenville County, Oxford-on-Rideau Township. Upper Canada and was the eldest son of fifteen (15) children born to Thomas KELLY and Rebecca BROWN KELLY. James KELLY is listed on the Archiva Net Index to the 1871 Ontario Census as a 33 year old farmer of the Methodist Religion, living in Kent District; Harwich Subdistrict. The 1871 Ontario Census lists James KELLY's birthplace as Ontario and his ethnicity as IRISH! According to the 06, June, 1900 U. S. Census, taken in Findlay Township, Hancock County, Findlay, Ohio, James KELLY became a naturalized citizen in 1879. His occupation on this census was listed as an oil rig builder and he was residing with his son Nathan Tompkins KELLY. It appears that James KELLY and his wife, Rebecca TOMPKINS KELLY [Daughter of Nathan & Rebecca TOMPKINS & my G-Grandmother] , & family immigrated to the United States sometime around 1879. James KELLY & Rebecca TOMPKINS KELLY had the following children [There could be more]: 1.Electa Hannah KELLY [Married name - PRESSNELL]: Born: 14, February, 1862 in Kent County, Ontario, Canada. Died: 13, March, 1915 in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio at the age of 52. No known children. 2.Nathan Tompkins KELLY [My Grandfather]: See Above for birth date & place. Died: 06, December, 1934 at 67 years of age in Artesia, Eddy County, New Mexico. Nathan Tompkins KELLY and Laura STATELER KELLY had the following children: (1)Nathan Tompkins KELLY Jr.: Born: 21, December, 1894 in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio. Died: 27, October, 1977 in Artesia, New Mexico. (2)Carl Stateler KELLY: Born: 05, January, 1896 in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio. Died: 22, November, 1966 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Died: 16, August, 1973. (5)Doratha Rebecca KELLY: Born: 07, July, 1904 in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio. Died: Sometime in 1997. (6)Luther James KELLY [My father]: Born: 15, June, 1904 in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio. Died: 15, July, 1972. 3.Orpha Jane KELLY [Married Name - BRANDENBERG]: Born 6, June, 1875 in Kent County, Ontario, Canada. Died: 09, September, 1917 at the age of 42. No known children. 4.John KELLY: There may have been another brother by this name. I have a death date of 23, January, 1899 provided by Laura Marie Chesnut from a family history interview in Mount Pleasant, Michigan in 1976. Hello Listers: I am searching for the E-mail address of Dorothy HOWE SURI. She E-mailed me in July of 1999 and advised me that she was a fifth generation descendant of Naomi KELLY HOWE MORGAN, born February 8, 1845 in Burritt's Rapids, Oxford-on-Rideau township, Grenville County, Upper Canada to Thomas & Hannah KELLY. Subsequently, I have verified through the Oxford-on-Rideau Township Census of Grenville County, that Thomas & Hannah had a daughter named Naomi who was born about 1845 in Burritts Rapids. I believe that this is the same Naomi that Dorothy HOWE SURI is searching for. I was unaware of this at the time. Alas...I lost Dorothy HOWE SURI's E-mail address. Could anyone help me find Dorothy HOWE SURI? Dorothy, if you are out there....I think we are related!...Please contact me! Loren Kelly Kelly Motto: "Turis - Fortis - Mihi - Deus!" I am just starting on the Kelly (Kelley) genealogy. My ancester (I believe) is Elizabeth Kelly who married Jeremy Connor and was the mother of Lydia Badger Connor, born in Gilmanton 4th May, 1789 and also believed to be the mother of Peasley Badger Connor (Conner) who was born Oct, 1791. I have been unable to document Peasley's birth, but have documented Lydia's. We believe Elizabeth also had a sister named Lydia. Who are their parents? Is anyone else working on this line? Lois
