    1. Felix McManus KELLY> Born about 1874 Texas.....Charles William KELLY> born about 1876 Texas
    2. Firewalker
    3. Hi Listers, I am in search of my great-grandfathers brothers Felix and Charles KELLY. Felix McManus KELLY who was born in Texas abt. 1874. I think he may have been born in Hockley, Harris, TX or Fayette County, TX but, not sure. THis is only conjecture on my part based upon past research. Felix is listed in his fathers obituary in November of 1922 as living in Los Angeles, California. In his sisters obituary of July 1944 he is still listed as living in California. Based upon the 1920 Los Angeles County, CA Census he is married to a woman with the first name of Jennie. She was born in Louisiana in 1878. One child, Gladys M. KELLY was still living at home. Gladys was born in 1904 and the census states Texas as state of birth. Felix is not listed in my great-grandfathers obituary of 1953 as are his living siblings. I can only guess he had passed away between 1944 and 1952 somewhere in California. I assume Los Angeles. Charles William KELLY was born in Texas abt. 1876. I also guesstimate he was born either in Hockley, Harris, TX or Fayette County, TX where his parents and other siblings were known to live. Charles is also listed in his fathers obit as well as his sisters. Based upon the 1920 Los Angeles County, CA Census he is married to a woman with the name of Lillie Belle. No children at home at this time. Lillie Belle was born abt. 1979 and Texas is state of birth. He also isn't listed in his brothers obit of 1952. I know how hard the KELLY surname is to trace. I have been working on these brothers and sisters for a very long time. Luckily over the last two months I have located some info on the family. I am willing to share what I know. If you have knowledge of these men or family please contact me. I do appreciate what help and support you are able to give. Mike Kelly firewalker@ncfreedom.net

My G-G-Grandfather, Thomas Francis KELLY died on 28, April, 1891 at the age of 90 in Belmont Township. He is buried in Christ Church Anglican Cemetery in Burritts Rapids, Grenville County, Ontario next to his wife Hannah BROWN KELLY. Thomas KELLY's place of birth on the Ontario Census of 1871 was listed as IRELAND. His religion was listed as Church of England - Anglican and his occupation was listed as a labourer. Thomas & Hannah KELLY had about 15 children between 1838 and 1866 according to the 1861; 1871; & 1881 Leebee Oxford-On-Rideau Township, Grenville County Census as follows: 1. James KELLY: [Their eldest son {My Great Grandfather} born in Burritts Rapids on 09, September, 1838] 2.Susana KELLY [Born about 1841 in Upper Canada] 3.Mary KELLY [Born about 1842 in U. C.] 4.Sarah KELLY [Born about 1843 in U. C.] 5.Elizabeth KELLY [Born about 1845 in U. C.] 6.Naomi KELLY [Born about 1847 in U. C.] 7.Kezeth KELLY [Born about 1848 in U. C.] 8.Maria KELLY [Born about 1851 in U. C.] Married John ROSE on 22, March, 1875 9.Sophia KELLY [Born about 1851 in U. C.] 10.Jamima KELLY [Born about 1853 or 1855 in U. C.] 11.Jerusha KELLY [Born about 1855 or 1856 in Burritts Rapids] Married James Albert ROSE on 04, February, 1874 12.Martha KELLY [Born about 1857 in Wolford Township, U. C.] Married Edmund FULCHER on 09, January 1873 13.William KELLY [Born about 1859 in U. C.] 14.Thomas KELLY [Born about 1859 or 1861 in U. C.] 15.Albert KELLY [Born about 1863 or 1866 in Ontario] I do not know where the above children are buried. They are not buried in the same cemetery as Thomas and Hannah KELLY. I only know of the listed marriages. James KELLY, the eldest & my G-G-Grandfather moved to KENT County for some unknown reason. He married Rebecca TOMPKINS {Daughter of Nathan TOMPKINS (A veteran of the War of 1812) who was the son of Israel TOMPKINS (A well-known United Empire Loyalist from Stillwater New York who settled in Augusta and Wolford Township in Grenville County Ontario). James KELLY and Rebecca TOMPKINS were the parents of my Grandfather, Nathan Tompkins KELLY, born about 24, August, 1867 in Blenheim, Kent County, Ontario. Nathan Tompkins KELLY (At about age 14) with his parents & family immigrated to the U.S. in 1879 and settled in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio, where my father, Luther James KELLY (First generation American) was born in 1907. My research quandary is: 1. Where have all of the other KELLY's gone? 2. Why did Thomas Francis KELLY die in Belmont Township [Peterborough County} which is a great distance from Burritts Rapids, Grenville County, Ontario and end up buried in Grenville County? 3. Why did James Kelly leave Grenville Canada and migrate to Kent County, Ontario? 4.Why would James KELLY & his family leave Canada to immigrate to the U. S. in 1879? 5.How can I locate these other 14 children of Thomas & Hannah KELLY's descendants and what happened to these 14 children? HELLO; Do I have any relatives OUT THERE? 1. Most wanted Kelly's: Timothy KELLY and Julia KELLY DUNN
    2. Kevin Kelly
    3. My most wanted Kelly's are Timothy and his sister Julia. Daniel Kelly + Catharine Fleming: Timothy, John D., Mary (Harrington), Margaret (Hagerty), Julia (Dunn), Patrick D. Timothy Kelly was probably born around 1825 in Ireland. He is the eldest of the six children of Daniel Kelly (died Ireland, probably around 1839-1846) and Catharine Fleming (about 1801, Ireland, to 1871/2, Wisconsin). Tim's mother and most or all of his siblings settled in New Diggings, Lafayette County, Wisconsin in the 1850's. These Kelly's started arriving there probably not much earlier than about 1855. Tim and his younger brother, John, were supposed to be the first who came to America. I don't yet know just when, or their whereabouts prior to WI, but I do know that their mother and her two youngest arrived in 1849 or maybe 1847, and spent time in Philadelphia at the house of a prospector. John Kelly married Johanna Lynch (who was born in Massachusetts), probably about 1856. I believe that Johanna grew up in New Diggings, although that has not been proven. If so, her family spent time in New York before the went to Massachusetts and then Wisconsin. I have found no record yet for Timothy. Our family account shows that he married, with a question mark for his wife's name. They are said to have had one child, Margaret, who later became a nun (Sister Mary Honorius, O.P.). The Timothy Kelly's I have found in New Diggings censuses don't seem to be a match. Julia came to the U.S. with her mother, probably in 1849. Our family account shows that she married Daniel Dunn, and lists John, Margaret, James, and Ann as their children. I found a Daniel Dunn (28, Ireland) and Julia (25, Ireland) in the 1860 census for N.D., but the children's names are John (3), Mary (1), and Hannah (2 mos.). I can make Ann out of Hannah, but where are Margaret and James, and who is Mary? Based on census records Julia's older sister Margaret should have a birthdate around 1833. Patrick was born at various times depending on which census record you believe, but he eventually stuck with 1837. That would make Julia around 25 in 1860, so the age of this Julia Kelly is plausible. The family account does not say where Daniel and Julia married, nor what happened to their family later. If you have any data that may be related to one of these Kelly's, or I might have data related to your searches, please contact me. Thanks, Kevin Patrick Kelly, g-g-son of Patrick D. Kelly

    1. Roll Call, Most wanted KELLYs...also SMITHs
    2. Tom & Pam Kelly
    3. Hello everyone, I'm looking for family members related to LAURENCE KELLY and MARTHA SMITH. Supposedly both LAURENCE KELLY and MARTHA SMITH were born in Southeastern Pennsylvania. LAURENCE KELLY was born about 1740 and MARTHA SMITH was born about 1742. They were married on April 8, 1767 in Pennsylvania most likely in Cumberland or Lancaster County. The exact location is not known. This marriage was performed and recorded by Rev. John Conrad Bucher. Rev. Bucher first came to PA. in 1755 and lived in Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA. then moved to Lebanon, Lebanon Co., PA. around 1768 (Lancaster Co. then). (He also may have owned land in Northumberland Co. PA. before his death in 1780) From the Annals of Buffaloe Valley PA., Tax lists, and Provincial papers. LAURENCE and MARTHA KELLY are listed living in Northumberland County,Pennsylvania. Laurence Kelly 1775-1780 White Deer Twp. 1 Horse 1 Cow, Laurence Kelly 1781 Buffaloe Twp. 2 Horses 2 Cows, Laurence Kelly 1785 Turbutt Twp. 200 Acres 1 Horse 2 Cows, Laurence Kelly 1787 Chillesquaque Twp. ? , Laurence Kelly 1793 Northumberland County record Warrentees of Land 400 Acres, Laurence Kelly 1790 & 1800 U.S. Census Northumberland County Pennsylvania. These Townships are near Milton & Lewisburg Pennsylvania. Union and Northumberland Counties today. Northumberland County was formed from Lancaster, Berks, Cumberland, Northhampton, & Bedford Counties in 1772. The towns of KELLY POINT and KELLY CROSSROADS are in Union County Pennsylvania today (this is same area that was Northumberland County from 1772-1813) The same location where LAURENCE & MARTHA KELLY lived from 1775-1780. These Townships west of the Susquehanna River, White Deer & Buffaloe, became Union County in 1813. From 1784-1800 LAURENCE & MARTHA KELLY lived on the east side of the Susquehanna River. Forced to because of Indian attacks. This time period was known as "The Great Runaway" (between 1778-1784). During the Revolutionary War LAURENCE KELLY was a private in Captain John Forster's Company. In 1778 this was the 1st Company in the 1st Battalion known as the Northumberland Rangers. In command of the 1st Battalion was COLONEL JOHN KELLY. It is very possible that LAURENCE KELLY and COLONEL JOHN KELLY are in someway related. How is not known. Perhaps first cousins or maybe even brothers. COLONEL JOHN KELLY was born in 1744 on his father's farm (John Kelly Sr.) near Marietta, Donegal Township, Lancaster Co., PA. The towns of KELLY POINT and KELLY CROSSROADS are named after COLONEL JOHN KELLY who was a Revolutionary War Hero for Northumberland County Pennsylvania. LAURENCE KELLY and COLONEL JOHN KELLY both came to the same area of Northumberland County around the same time 1769-1775. In 1800 LAURENCE & MARTHA KELLY along with their children with their families moved west to western Pennsylvania and then onto Ohio and Indiana. They were in Steubenville, Jefferson County, Ohio from around 1802-1809. Staying there for only about 7 years. Then about 1810-1812 LAURENCE and MARTHA KELLY along with their Sons and Daughters (Hugh, John, Abram, Martha, Elizabeth, William, Davis) arrived in Blue lick, Monroe Township, Clark County, Indiana. Where LAURENCE & MARTHA KELLY are both buried. MARTHA (SMITH) KELLY died September 22 and LAURENCE KELLY died two days later on September 24, 1823 (These deaths were recorded in the diary writen by Daniel Guernsey Sr., Schoolmaster in Blue lick) The diary reads..... In the year 1823 on September 21, Bronson Guernsey watches at the home of John Kelly. September 22, At 4 o'clock this morning old Mrs. Kelly died, aged 81 years. Old grandfather Kelly is supposed not to survive many days. Bronson watches. September 23, We all attend the funeral. Guy & Seymour Guernsey, Laz Kelly, Robert Campbellton, and William Patrick dig the grave in the woods. I get home from the burying about five o'clock. September 24, Old Mr. Lawrence Kelly, age 83 years, dies about six thirty this morning. September 25, Attended the funeral of Mr Kelly. Mr. Little preached an excellent sermon. I got home from the burial about four o'clock. For those of you who may not know. Daniel Guernsey Sr. is the father of Daniel Bronson Guernsey who married Nancy Ann Kelly daughter of John & Elizabeth (Wheatley, Mills) Kelly. This grave yard known as Blue Lick Cemetery to early settlers later became Mountain Grove Cemetery. Supposedly the land where LAURENCE & MARTHA KELLY are buried was once owned by the KELLY family and later a portion of this land was donated for a cemetery by Hugh Kelly. The Guernsey and Dietz families were neighbors, good friends, and thier children married into the Kelly family. Visit this web site for pictures of their graves. www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/5881/bluelickcem.html Anyone who has knowledge about these KELLY or SMITH Families in Southeastern Pennsylvania during the mid to late 1700's or anyone who feels they maybe related to Lawrence and Martha Kelly please contact me. Also if you have corrections or additional information for Kelly families please contact me. Tom Kelly email: tpkelly@swbell.net

    1. Mineville, NY
    2. I've subscribed to these lists for a while now, and haven't noticed a relation. But, for my father who is not computer literate I will send out this request: Does anyone know of any Kelly's or Kelley's from Mineville NY? McCarthy's may be in their lines too. My father visited relatives there in his childhood. (Somewhere in between 1926 and 1944, I'd say.) Thank you.

    1. [KELLEY-L] Kelley Roll Call
    2. Jim Kelly
    3. Here is my most wanted Kelly/Kelley: Henry Kelly was born in South Carolina on 4 August 1796. Hes first wife is unknown, but she died in the 1820s in Limestone Co., AL. His second wife was Mahaly who he married in Giles Co., TN. in 1835. Mahaley died there in 1877. He married his third wife, Mrs. Luvicy Hunter (an Indian also known as Flower Hunter) in Giles Co. in 1878. She died in Giles Co., TN. in 1890. Henry Kelly died there in 1887. Henry is the son of John Kelly. Henry's siblings are (1) Thomas Kelly, b. ca 1790 died in Limestone Co., AL. ca October 1833. His widow was Elizabeth. (2) Joseph Kelly who married Nancy. They were in Limestone Co. in 1820. (3) John Kelly I believe John Kelly was the son of Nelson Kelly who was born in Virginia ca 1730 and died in Bedford Co., TN. in 1818. I just cannot prove this. Nelson married Elizabeth Jeffries in Stafford Co., VA. in 1757. Any help with this would really be appreciated. Thank you, Jim W. Kelly gnelogjim@apex.net

    3. My great grandfather James Manson Kelley was born in Wayne County MS in 1856. His mother's name was Helen and he had a brother Cebram. The family originally came from farther east. I was told that the name had originally been O'Kelly. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows anything about this family.
