His wife, Ella Marie HAMBERGER, is the 1st child of Edward HAMBERGER (b. 15 Feb 1874 Dunnstable, Clinton Co., PA - d. 21 Aug 1937 Lock Haven -- buried Dunnstown Cem.) and wife Molly Arvilla HARTZELL (b. 19 Mar 1880 Liberty, PA - d. 4 Aug 1938 Lock Haven -- buried Dunnstown Cem.) Edward HAMBERGER and Molly HARTZELL had 4 children: (1) Ella Marie HAMBERGER (b. ca. Dec 1898) (2) Walter Edward HAMBERGER (b. 2 Nov 1901 married Esther Barretta FOX) (3) Velma May HAMBERGER (b. 11 Mar 1911 married 1st Harold E.KILLINGER married 2nd Arnold J. KILLINGER) (4) Jane Eleanor HAMBERGER (b. ca. 1921 married Mr. BEAMAN) Molly Arvilla HARTZELL is d/o Samuel HARTZELL & Arvilla BAIRD. Edward HAMBERGER (b. 1874) was first married to a Emma J. ROAN around January 1896. He married 2nd to Molly around 1898. (In the 1900 Clinton Co., PA census the HAMBERGER and HARTZELL families are living next to each other) Edward is s/o Joseph Franz HAMBERGER (b. 17 Jun 1827 Herbolzheim, Baden, Germany - d. 30 Dec 1904 Lock Haven, Clinton Co., PA -- bur: St. Agnes Cem., Allison Twp., Clinton Co., PA) and wife Bertha "Patty" FENDRICH (b. 23 Dec 1833 Allfeld, Baden, Germany - d. 1 March 1924 Lock Haven, Clinton Co., PA -- bur: St. Agnes). The villages of Herbolzheim and Allfeld in Baden are not far apart. Both are near the boarder of Wurttemberg about 40 miles north of Stuttgart, Germany. Probably Joseph F. HAMBERGER and Bertha FENDRICH were married in America. They had 10 children all born in Clinton County. Edward is their 8th child. Joseph F. HAMBERGER is son of Franz Carl HAMBERGER and Francisca GROSSKINSKY. Bertha FENDRICH is d/o Ignaz “Ig” FENDRICH (b. 11 July 1805 Allfeld, Baden ) and Maria "Mary” Anna SCHAFFNER who were married 19 Nov 1832 in Allfeld, Baden. Ignaz, Maria and their daughter left Baden together from the port of Le Havre, France on the ship “Empire” and arrived in New York on 19 Nov 1853. They later came to Lock Haven, Clinton Co., PA.
