My William Green Kelley, b. 1822 (later Jasper, Co or "near the capitol, Jackson) in MS Territory. He had told his children that he was one of NINE brothers. On several census records he indicated his parents were born in SC, but no one knows their names. I visited Darlington, SC a number of years ago and tried to contact a local Kelley genealogist but she was out of town at the time and her husband refused to let me see her records. I had traveled from S. Texas & was crushed that I was unable to talk with this lady. Maybe someone out there knows who she is (was?) and knows how to access these records ------- . At that time, the courthouse at Darlington was FULL of various Kelleys, but I had a generation gap to deal with & had no way to connect.
