Looking for verification that Walter Kelly was the father of James Kelly and that James Kelly was the father of William Thomas Kelly, my GGGG grandfather. I have proof that my GGGG Kelly grandparents were: William Thomas Kelly and Ruth Axexander Kelly William Kelly b. 1787 in SC and died Jan. 8th. 1855 in Perry County, TN. Ruth Alexander was born in NC in 1797 and died in Perry County, TN in1878. I have my Kelly line to present from the above data. What I have but cannot verify is that ... William Thomas Kelly's parents were James Kelly and wife Anne. James Kelly b. abt 1760 in Pittsylvania, VA and died Feb. 1840 in Maury, TN. I have nine (9) children list for them and they are as follows: Elizabeth Kelly Polly (Mary ?) Kelly Frances Kelly John Kelly Alexander Kelly William Thomas Kelly (GGGG grandfather, b. abt.1787) Joseph Kelly b. abt 1802 AND Furthermore... I have that the grandfather of my William Thomas Kelly was Walter Kelly b. abt 1730 in Timahoe, Kildare, Ireland came to SC abt. 1750, helped set up a Quaker Church in SC before moving on to VA. Had one of the most western settlements in what is now West VA, was killed and scalped by indians (is burried in Greenbriar West VA) and his widow and children moved back to SC.
