"Dick" Kelley 73, of Richmond, died Saturday, September 17, 2005, as a result of complications from his battle with cancer. Born March 4, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA., to John I. and Marie Hackett Kelley, he lived in Richmond for over 40 years. Dick graduated from North Catholic High School in Philadelphia, served in the Army during the Korean War and graduated from LaSalle College in Philadelphia. Dick retired in 1991, after 33 years, from the Ford Motor Co. in Connersville. He enjoyed wood carving, home projects, exercising and was an avid sports fan. Dick also enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching his children and grandchildren and attending their many functions. Survivors include his wife, Florence Sweeney Kelley, to whom he was married September 13, 1958; six children, Dr. Kathleen Kelley, of Fishers, Ind., Patty (Brian) Kearnaghan, of Lafayette, Ind, Joseph R. (Dana) Kelley, of Carmel, Ind., Mike (Barbara) Kelley, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Tom Kelley, ! Fishers, Ind. and Mary (Curt) Leverton, of Richmond; 11 grandchildren, Chelsea and Brad Kearnaghan; Meagan, Claire, Katherine, Natalie and Beth Kelley; Andrew and Kate Kelley; Jake and Luke Leverton; three sisters, Patricia Donohie, Helen Scavilla and Irene Boyle all of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Jack Kelley of Chicago; many nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sister Marie Kelley and a special aunt, Helen Hackett. A short Prayer Service for Richard D. "Dick" Kelley will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2005, at St. Mary Catholic Church 710 North "A" Street, Richmond with Father Eric Augenstein officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at the funeral home.
