Welma was a retired elementary school teacher. She had taught for over 30 years and had started teaching in a one room school house in Southern Indiana. She was a graduate of the University of Evansville. Welma was preceded in death by her husband, LTC (Ret.) John L. Brown; two brothers, Jack and Clair Kelley; a sister and brother-in-law, Helene and Mac McKinley. She is survived by her sons, Dr. B.D.K. (Katie) Brown of Fort Wayne, IN, and Dr. Gary (Kathy) Brown of Blacksburg, VA; grandchildren, Shannon Brown, Laurie (Jon) Wretling, Kyle Brown, Josh Brown, Nathan (Heather) Brown; a great grandson, Tanner Brown; and a brother, Forad (Faye) Kelley of Radcliff, KY; and a sister-in -law, Eleanor Kelley of Boonville, IN.
