I am a Kelley myself so I know how you feel. Listen, you might try the family rolls for the Eastern Band of Cherokees in North Carolina. If you can prove that there is Cherokee blood then the family name should be on the roll. The Cherokees maintain that anybody with any Cherokee blood is a Cherokee. Also, if you can prove that someone is I thing at least 1/4 Cherokee, then the government owes them, based on last treaty with Cherokees, a 4 year college, 1 acre of land, and I am serious, 1 mule. The treaty is still valid. You won't get the land or mule but you will get the college. I know this for fact since I helped young lady here in Richmond, Va. apply for college thru government. Good luck with Kelleys Wayne Kelley ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, October 19, 2005 12:57 PM Subject: [KELLEY] Johnson (Johnston) Kelly or Kelley > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/5519/CYm.2ACIB/3192 > > Message Board Post: > > This was my GR-GR Grandfather, he married my Gr-GR Grandmother Gillie > Savannah.
