MOST WANTED I¹ve been looking for years for any connection to Malachi Kelly, b. around 1800 in Co. Mayo later moved to Galway, maybe Galway City. Married to Mary Knight. His son John, my g-g-grandfather, b. 1825, emigrated to Milford, MA in the late 1840s, perhaps with siblings, e.g., Patrick. John was a bootmaker. He married Anne Honora Melia and they had nine children. His son, James Sylvester Kelly, my g-grandfather, was born in Milford and started the Kelly Shoe Manufacturing Company there. We have a great deal of reliable information on the family from John forward but haven¹t ever made a connection back to Malachi and Mary Knight. But we keep trying.
