    1. [KELLEY] Who is your "Most Wanted" Kelley/Kelly/O'Kelly Ancestor?
    2. Paula Kelley Ward
    3. We haven't done the "Most Wanted Kelley Ancestor" in a while, so let's liven up the list a bit. Please use the SUBJECT line to tell us: 1) WHERE your Kelley lived 2) WHEN he/she lived there (or approximate date) For example, my subject line might be: Kentucky, early 1800s Or: Bedford County, Virginia, 1740 Use the body of the message to tell us: Ancestor's full name and any details you already have, such as: spouse name, children's names, any dates.etc. Good luck, everyone, and I hope we can find some new cousins "out there." 1. [KELLEY] James J. Kelly b. Aug 16, 1818 Botetourt County, VA b.
    2. Nancy Custer
    3. James Kelly/Kelley married Elizabeth Fout and moved to Rhea County, VA in the 1830's. There is a large number of descendants, many of whom are looking for J. J.'s parents. So far, we are stymied. We have a 12 marker DNA match with a descendant of a Samuel Kelly who was born in 1779 in North Carolina. There are a lot of non-Kelly matches too, so we are not certain of the significance of the match. Nancy Custer

    1. [KELLEY] Bridgett Kelley, born Ireland 1825; immigrated to Ohio in 1850
    2. Herman
    3. My GGM, Bridgett Kelley, is alleged to have given birth to eleven (11) children. When she immigrated aboard the vessel "New World" in January 1850 from Liverpool to New York, there were eight other Kelly/Kelley's aboard the ship. My GM, Kate Kelley, was born in Ohio in May 1854. Kate "married" Homer Boone and had two daughters, Carrie (1869, Cincinnati) and Cecelia (1883, Cincinnati). Long time between those two births which may explain early deaths of some children, or maybe that the two were not from the same Kelley family. HHFranke Wilmington, NC

    3. My "brick wall" is my great-grandfather Barney (also called Bernard) Kelley who was born in Chipman, New Brunswick in 1839. Family stories say he married a young woman by the name of Briggs or Biggs who died shortly thereafter. He then left home and went to Minnesota. I cannot find anything on him until he marries by great grandmother in 1876 in Minnesota. After that I have everything in great detail. I have been able to trace the rest of his family to the 20th century but the time between Barney leaving home around aged 17 (1856) and 1876, there is nothing. I know have 2 second cousins searching with me. Some day we will find out where he was in the interval.
