We have come to the same conclusions about Laban, with the exception that I have him being born in what is now Buncombe Co., NC. My info came from the archivist in Arizona when I was trying to gather information on my great grandfather George Kelley...but of course that doesn't mean it is true. Have you been able to find any birth Cert for Laban...if so I would love to have a copy. so far I have had not luck.
