I have a Samuel Kelly/ey b. 1826 SC and d. 1872 Etowah Co., AL. He married Eliza A. Hawkins (Benton/Calhoun Co., AL) 1850. He was in the Confederate Infantry. He is buried at Union #3 Baptist Church, Ball Play, AL Supposedly one or both were Cherokee. Don't know which even if either. I believe Eliza A. Hawkins was the daughter of Elisha Hawkins & Elizabeth Guthrie/Guthry (sp?) After Samuel Kelly died the family moved to Aubrey, Denton Co., TX abt 1876-8. I have a list of their children and spouses, but can't get farther back with my Kelly that fell from the sky!
