It has been a few months since I last posted but, I figure maybe someone new out there might have some information on my illusive KELLY line. John W. KELL(E)Y b. 1813. According to the 1850 GA Census he was born in MI. Other records state PA. d. unk, unk. Married 26 Dec. 1842 to Sarah Caroline MARTIN b. 1826 in SC and other records state GA. They were known to have lived in Columbus, Muscogee County, GA in 1850. He is listed as a steamboat pilot. Children: William Charles KELLY b. 1843 Russell County AL d. 1922 Houston, TX Buried Ledbetter, Fayette, TX. Married in 1866 to Addie MOORE b. 1847 Macon County, AL d. Fayette County, TX. Buried Ledbetter, Fayette, TX. Mary Virginia KELLY b. 1845 GA d. abt. 1878 in AL? Married Felix McManus abt. 1868 and moved to Montgomery County, AL. She left children. Unknown further information on either person or children Caroline KELLY b. 1849 GA d. 1880 AL Married Jowel (Joel) Walker abt. 1868 and moved to Troup County, GA. She left children. Unknown further information on either person or children. William Charles KELLY and Addie KELLY moved to Texas in 1868. He acquired employment with the railroad service until his retirement. He is a Civil War veteran. She is the daughter of Edward MOORE and Mary Ann HENLEY both b. Virginia abt. 1826. Children of WC KELLY and Addie KELLY: George Edward KELLY (g-grandfather) b. 1867 Chambers County, AL d. 1952 Giddings, Lee, TX. Buried in Giddings, TX. He married Mollie Anna HILLSMAN about 1887. He was employed by various railroad firms until his retirement in 1935 with over 48 years of service. Eula Lee KELLY b. abt. 1868 on the trail near Nacogdoches, TX. d. 1961 in Houston, Harris, TX. Buried in Giddings, Lee, TX. Married unk date and place to Oscar C. Jersig. I believe he was a salesman of some sort. Mary Virginia KELLY b. abt. 1871 in TX. No other info is known. Ernest Linwood KELLY b. abt 1874 in TX. He was known to have at least one son and lived past 1952. He is listed in his brother G.E. Kelly's obituary. last known whereabouts was a retired 'fireman' with the railroad in San Antonio, TX. Felix McManus KELLY b. abt 1874 in TX d. unk. He is known to be in the 1920 Los Angeles County, CA Census with a wife Jennie and daughter Gladys b. 1904. There may have been more children but, none are listed. I believe he too must have been with the railroad. Charles William KELLY b. abt. 1876 in TX d. unk. He too is known to be in the 1920 Los Angeles County, CA Census. He is listed with his wife Lillie Belle. There may have been children of this union but, none are listed. I beleive he too must have been with the railroad. James Norman KELLY b. abt. 1878 in TX. d. 1909 Houston, Harris TX. Married Louise Gordon. This is all that is known about James. (In fact a few living relatives had never even known he existed) The above are listed in the 1880 Fayette County, TX Census. The below are not so I gathered they must have been born after 1880. I have not been able to ascertain if they are in the 1900 Census of this area of TX, although I know the family lived there. Annie Cleveland KELLY b. Aft. 1880 d. aft. 1952. She is listed in her brothers 1952 obituary. Married Lee Wolf. She is known to have lived in Dallas, Dallas, TX as of 11-22-1922 when her father died. Nothing else is known about either of these people. Willie Estelle KELLY b. Aft. 1880 d. Aft. 1952. She is listed in her brothers 1952 obtiuary. Married a man with the last name of Beard. She is known to have lived in Houston, Harris, TX as of 11-22-1922 when her father died. Nothing else is known about either of these people.
