Anyone have information a Thomas Kelly, came to US about 1800-1806, married unknown Benton and had a daughter Winnifred - Winnifred was born in Tennessee in 1809. Family story says that her mother was on ship to US from England with her family and met Kelly on board ship, eloping when they landed. She was dead three years later, killed by Indians. Winnifred was raised by her grandparents but 1850 Missouri census shows her in a household with her husband, children and a Thomas Kelly age 79 and Letticia Kelly age 76 - I assume her father and a step mother?
