Hi All !! I am new to the list and also new to the Kelly clan. Just discovered a connection and hoping to find some help. To start my ggreatgrandfather Daniel L Riddle b. 1828 married Catherine Jane Kelly b. 1838 daughter of John B Kelly a wealthy lawyer who came from Scotland and settled in Moore County where he had his nephew Alexander build a fine "Kelly Home". My search has found that Daniel and Catherine had a daughter Mary Ann Riddle who went to live with her cousin Alexander after the death of her mother in 1855. Alexander bought " The Kelly Home" at auction after the death of John and the plantation grew to 6,000 acres. Mary Ann in the 1860 census is 6 years old and living with Alexander and she has personal property valued at $12,000. I am trying to find out more about Mary Ann, if anyone can help I can share some Kelly info. I have some info on the Kelly home and a copy of an old pledge of allegiance to the US card signed following the Civil War signed by Malcolm Kelly in 1865. Such a prominent family must have been well documented, so I am hoping to find what happened to Mary Ann with the help from member of the Kelly clan. Thanks for listening, Danny Riddle ddr45@msn.com
