I am Joseph Cornwell and I descend from Jacob Kelly and his wife Susannah Allen who lived in Jasper Co, GA. I am seeking more information about my Kelly line. Jacob's father was Joseph Kelly and was in Edgecomb, Co, NC in 1758. He left a will, probated 6 Jan 1795 in Clinton, NC. Jacob's mother was Elizabeth. Jacob was born 4 Mar 1755 probably in Sampson or Robeson, Co, NC, he served in the Revolution, and he died in Jasper Co, GA on 11 Nov 1835. His descendants (myself included) are documented in Dorothy MacDowell's "The Kellys of Jasper Co, GA" I look forward to participating in this Kelly group.
