    3. John R. KELLEY b. Bangor, Co., Down, 1845 was the son of John KELLEY and Mary CROZIER. His mother died in Aug 1847 and his father took John and his 8 year old sister Martha I. KELLEY to live with his parents. Tradition said that the parents were weavers of "book linen" and lived above their shop. In 1850 the John Sr. immigrated with his new wife Elizabeth and the two kids to the USA and settled in Troy Twp, Sauk Co., Wisconsin. At the age of 16 John R. joined the Union Army to fight in the Civil War. John R. married Sophronia JONES, the widow of William Young, in Apr. 1881 in Ohio, Jewell Co., Kansas. Only child Nellie May KELLEY was born 30 Oct 1882 in Kansas. John died in Dec 1911 in Salem, Oregon while visiting his sister Martha THOMAS, and he is buried there. Martha's husband was less than thrilled about his brother-in-law dying on them.....the last time they had seen him was in Kansas. He had taken their horse and wagon in to town and had never come back. That was 25 years before. What became of his daughter Nellie May? Her mother died in 1919 in Formosa, Kansas. I would love to exchange information on any of these people. Carole in Portland, Oregon
