This roll call is such a good idea...... They are several on this list that are connected to Giles Kelley's son William and some connected to son Elijah (I am from Elijah's son James Ashley). The will (some records taken from burned records) index shows that Giles (Jiles) Kelley (Kelly) left property to William, Elijah, Sampson and William McFadden spouse of his daughter Mary (Polly) . One of his descents who still lives in the area and is about 80, stated that William and Elijah took Giles (about 1826-7) home to be buried. (unknown location) Please be aware that we have not found which Giles Kelley is our Giles. Thinking there was only the below Giles of VG during the mid 1700's, we had to admit we were wrong. Our records: Our Elijah born 1800 to Giles Kelley. Siblings/children on father Giles' will: Sampson, William and Polly. William and Elijah were born in Jackson Co. TN. Census show that Elijah's father born VG.The family went to Madison Co. IL after Elijah was born. In 1813 they headed to TX and ended up in Clark Co. AR near Wolf Creek which became Pike Co. They probably were going to meet family in Texas so there may be a relationship there. Other people on this list like my buddy Dorothy, are related to Giles Kelley below..... DeJarnette Book Giles Kelley, (I) of Brunswick County, VG. Will of 12-19-1785 lists children: Samuel, William, James, Giles, son-in-law Joseph Browder. Giles (Jiles) Kelley, Sr. (II) m Martha Ford DeJarnette in Madison Co KY 2-11-1796. Both buried on Fallen Timber Creek, Barren Co. KY. son Giles Kelley Jr. (III) (also, Daniel, Patsy & Polly, Emily, Susannah b 1809 , John W.) Just a thought: So many of the names follow thru both of these familys that it is possible that they are connected to Giles who came to America thru PA late 1600s and probably was the base for the ones they went thru PA, the ones that went to VG and the ones that went on to SC. Family list for 4 generations to follow. June March jmarch@pe.net
