    1. A. J. Kelly (Kelley)
    2. My most wanted is A. J. Kelly, my great-grandfather. Here's what I know: >From Civil War Pension Application dated 1895, A. J. Kelley stated that he was 64 years old and that he had enlisted in Co. B of the 34th Regiment NC Infantry at Shelby, NC in July, 1861. In a second application dated 1901 he stated that he enlisted at "Lincon, North Carolina" (I assume Lincoln Co) in July, 1861. He was wounded at Drury's Bluff VA and as a consequence he lost his right arm. Following the war, he married Rebecca C. (last name unknown) and lived in the Rome, GA area until moving to Arkansas aorund 1891. He was a Baptist preacher. A. J. died in Arkansas in 1920. Both of his pension applications spelled his name KELLEY; however, the family Bible belonging to my grandfather spells the name KELLY. Children of Andrew Jackson and Rebecca C. Kelly: Jane (married ______ Wilson) John Henry Barney Kelly m. Martha Elizabeth Orear Elias Layfette Kelly Martha (?) Lula Kelly If anyone has run across any of these names, please let me know. Linda
