Well, here is my first post to the KELLEY list. My MOST WANTED Kelly would be the parents of my 3rd great-grandfather, James KELLY. I was told his middle name was Henry but I have no proof of that. Just like his son William. Someone says Wms middle name is Henry but I don't know where that came from. The census and his headstone just indicates the initial M. James (Henry) Kelly, b. c1814 in NC, m. c1837 in SC?, d. 1886 (I'm told) maybe in Georgia. Emily Watkins, b. 22 Jun 1814 (maybe July) in SC, d. 02 Mar 1909, buried in Ballground, Cherokee County, Georgia son - William M. (Henry?) Kelly, b. 01 Oct 1837 in SC ("SC" according to census) son - Elias James Kelly, b. 02 Sep 1839, Lumpkin Co, GA (according to death certificate) dau - Roseanna N. (Nancy?) Kelly, b. c1843 in Lumpkin Co.?, GA son - Jasper J. Kelly, b. c1846 in Lumpkin Co.?, GA son - James E. Kelly, b. c1847 in Lumpkin Co.?, GA son - Ewell/Ule S. Kelly, b. Oct 1847 in Lumpkin Co.?, GA d. Cherokee County, NC dau - Polly Ann Kelly, b. Sep 1850 in Lumpkin Co.?, GA son - Philemon Kelly, b. c1851 in Lumpkin Co.?, GA dau - Peggy Margaret Kelly, b. c1853 in Lumpkin Co., GA dau - Av(e)y Evaline Kelly, b. 04 Jan 1854 in Lumpkin Co., GA son - Martin Mackafee (Mac) Kelly, b. 15 Mar 1856 in Lumpkin Co., GA or SC (census) son - George H. Kelly, b. c1861 in Lumpkin or Gordon Co.?, GA I have more information on some of these children if you think you are a descendant.
