To all of you who wrote that I was too judgemental, you are correct! Here's the apology I sent to Duane and Valerie yesterday. Again, I apologize for taking up more cyber space! ---------------------- Forwarded by Tom Galloway/Pti on 12/29/98 10:59 AM --------------------------- Tom Galloway 12/28/98 02:23 PM To: " Duane and Valerie Kelly" <dkelly@nebi.com> cc: Subject: MY MOST SINCERE APOLOGY!!!!! (Document link not converted) Now that's an apology! I want to apologize to you for sounding so mean and unforgiving. I am probably a little biased lately as I see so many people who are so convinced that a person can do anything, even murder, and then we should immediately throw out the welcome mat and invite them over for supper. O.J. Simpson and Bill Clinton come to mind! Your joke was nothing, we have all done something much worse than that! What's dangerous about the Internet is that you're dealing with thousands of people who all have differing backgrounds and opinions. You should tune into the BOONE-L@rootsweb.com group sometime! They had a very nasty fight going on a while back because someone with a lot of accurate research on his side had suggested that Daniel Boone's wife may have had a number of children by one of Daniel's brothers. It almost came to name-calling and rock-throwing! It finally boiled down to the fact that the writer's research was accurate and it WAS possible, with all his long travels, that Daniel's wife Rebecca may have thought he was dead...then he showed up again! Then they had another fight about whether Daniel may have fathered some children by someone other than Rebecca Bryan! Anyway...I've come to expect such arguments in many of the groups I belong to. We're all pig-headed in one way or another. I think the liberals in Maryland are crazy when they say we should stop capital punishment in Texas...and half of my ancestors are from Maryland! Anyway, sorry I dragged you through the gravel...shame on me. We should all be able to forgive especially when someone asks for it! Sincerely, Tom Galloway
