I am trying to locate information on John Kelley in NC from the time he arrived in America (1771) until he crossed the mountains into Greeneville, TN (approx. 1790). During this time, I have been told, he taught school, married Anna Hunter and had three sons: John(b. 1776), Joseph and Andrew. Later records indicate a wife named Margaret and ten other children: Samuel (b.1793), Elizabeth, David (b.1795), Joshua, Daniel A.(b.1805), Jabes (b.1807), Ross (b.1810), Cynthia, Margaret, Polley. Of the first three sons (by Anna), John Kelley, Jr. remained in Greeneville,TN; Joseph's location is unknown; and Andrew moved to Kentucky. The remainder of my Kelley line looks like this: 1. John Kelley(b.1750) m. Anna Hunter 2. A. John Kelley Jr.(b.1776) m. Ellender Harrison B. Andrew Kelley m. Dolley Coleman 3. Wylie Kelley ( son of Andrew Kelley) m. Eliza Ann Kelley (daughter of John Kelley, Jr.) 4. Oliver Madison Kelley (b.1846) m. Emily Camilla Susong 5. George Stuart Kelley (b. 1882) m. Beatrice Harned 6. Emily Eliza Kelley (b. 1922) m. Leo Perry Underwood 7. Jerry Lynn Underwood m. Doris Sue Smith
