Here's my story on the topic. When my KELLEY ancestor's first came over from Ireland they settled in Prince Edward Island, Canada. All Candaian records whether be it the Census, or Baptismal records (they were Catholic) show the spelling as KELLY. However, here in the US, all there death certificates, grave markers and other documents say KELLEY. They remained Catholic. Go figure
