TRY AGAIN. -----Original Message----- From: Ellen Byrne <dande@mail.tds.net> To: KELLY-L@rootsweb.com <KELLY-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Sunday, October 11, 1998 9:01 AM Subject: KELLY/Co Kildare, Ireland, san Francisco :Hi-since Kelly is the 2nd most common name in Ireland the last I heard-Byrne is :7th-it is always a long shot, guess they were once all related. My husband's :grgrandparents Thomas and Mary Kelly Byrne m 1831, Ballysax, Suncroft Catholic :Parish, Co Kildare, Ireland. About 1867 they went to San Francisco. :Mary was the dau of Daniel and Sarah Byrne Kelly. the witnesses were: James :Byrne, John Flood. At leat one of Mary's sisters to San Francisco. About 1848, :never sure if she was alone, but on the way to San Francisco she married an :Irishman she met on the ship in Chile. Robert John Tobin. At that time there :was a wait for a ship to go on to CA, sometimes as much as a year (that is what :I have heard). Robert and Lucy Agnes Kelly did not have any children. Have some :other siblings names that were baptized in Co Kildare but dont know if any :others to CA. Good luck. Ellen Byrne, dande@mail.tds.net : :
