    1. Orange Irish
    2. Out of curiosity concerning Orange Irish I e-mailed a fellow researcher with a father born in Catholic Ireland (O'Sullivan). Her amusing response follows: My father always told me the ORANGE IRISH were the Northern Irish. When he was a very small boy, his much older brothers took a horse and braided the tail and the mane with orange ribbons on St. Patrick' Day. They tied a large orange ribbon around Dad's neck as a bow and gave the horse a swat. It went directly to the next farm where Dad's grandpa Dagen lived. When his Grandfather saw him he helped him down off the horse and gave him a threshing for wearing orange on St. Pat's Day. charlieann
