To Bill and Gayle, I have a Sarah Kelly (married name) that was living in Maury Co., TN in the 1850 census with children, but not husband. Her dau., Eliz. (first born) was my GGgrandmother and she was b. ca 1824/25. She married in 1844 to Lysander W. Walker in Maury Co., TN. She had a sister named Marguarite and a brother, I think, named Patrick. I have been trying to find out who Sarah's husband was and her maiden name. I know you say your Sarah was in Wilcox Co. AL, but this peaked my interest. I figured my Sarah's husband prob. died, but I need to do more checking on the 1840 and 1830 census for Maury Co. by sex and ages to see what Kelly family Sarah and Eliz. were in. Don't know that yet. I have checked all the will records on Kelley/Kelly in Maury Co., TN, but none in the right time period, so am at a loss so far. I don't guess yours could have been in Maury Co. by 1850? Any help would be appreciated from anyone that might know my Kellys.
