Are there any indexes for the NYC indexes for the 1860 or 1870 cencus or any NY states census before 1876. I am looking for a John Kelly who was married to Bridget Shields. John Kelly died in 1876. I have John Kelly's death record but I am trying to find out when he came to the U.S. His death record indicates that he was in NYC for 22 years so that means he came in 1854 if his death record is correct.
