Hello, I'm new to this list and thought I'd post my line. The earliest Kelley I have is in Ireland - John Kelley born about 1788. His son John was my GGGG Uncle, born October 10, 1820 in Coolaney, County Sligo. He was married to Ellen T. Armstrong on April 24, 1848 in Killoran Parish, County Sligo. According to John's obituary John and Ellen immigrated to the US soon after they were married and lived in PA until 1853 when they moved to Owen Township, Winnebago Co, IL, near Rockford. This family was closely associated with the Armstrong and Black families who came from Sligo to PA and on to Illinois. Here's the descendant report for this family - I'd love to find a connection with other searching in County Sligo and with their immigrants here in the US.
