I just returned from Ireland about 2 months ago and I feel terrible I didn't mention the Irish History centers. Ireland received a one time grant from EU. What Ireland did with the money was to establish History centers around the county. The one that I visited was at Woodford, co Galway. There is one employee and about 20 computers. The one employee is teaching the locals kids how to use computers by inputing historical and genealogic data. The grant was for employee training in counties with high unemployeement rates. There is a fee for services but the money is keep the services and the training going because the start up money was a one time grant. Woodford Heritage Centre is for eastern Co Galway and I am sure they probley know the Email of other History centers.\ Woodford Heritage Centre, Email eastgalwayfhs@tinet.ie go hunting but remember there is a fee.
