My ancestor is Henry Kelley, born about l742. I find him first in North Carolina, Rutherford County. He married Mary Whiteside, born l3 Feb. l750, daughter of John Whiteside Jr. and Mary Brown Underwood. They came to Sangamon County Illinois in l8l9. Henry died at Curran, Sangamon Co. Illinois l3 June l832 and is buried at Curran in Kelley Cemetery. His wife died l8 December l838 in Rondo, Polk County MO in Kelley Family Cemetery. There eight children were all born in Rutherford County North Carolina. They are: Mary Ashe (Polly) Kelley King, b/about l777; William Kelley, b/l780; (my 3 great grandfather), Eleanor Kelley Reavis, b/27 Jan, l782; John Kelley, b/l783 or 84; Elijah Kelley, b/l785; Elisha Kelley, born l3 Mar l787; George Washington Kelley, b/l July l789; Sarah (Sally) Kelley Greenwalt b/about l794. I am descended from William Kelley who married Dicia Ann Alford, and from their daughter Luvilta Clementine who married Nathan Ralson in Sangamon County, Illinois 3 Sep l795; they came to Jasper County, MO in l836.
