Hi! I feel frustrated that I can't help you. All my Kelly's are from Hazel Dell, IL where, apparently the saying at the turn of the century was "In Hazel Dell, you can't spit without hitting a Kelly." Hazel Dell was founded by my ggggrandfather, John Barrett Kelly. My sister and I visited last summer. Not much to it but we came home with quite alot of information(e.g. town history, exerpts from a Kelly diary,as well as a family tree taken at a 1925 reunion). However, that contains more earlier births than later. There are not too many families that are listed after 1886, but I would sure bet if your Shelby is from Hazel Dell that eventually you'll end up back to Lawrence Kelly(b. 1740) and Martha Smith(b. 1742).
