I've been lurking for a while and decided to "jump in". Please be tolerant of any errors and let me know the correct way to proceed. Any information/guidance is appreciated in my search. The only information that I have is that which came from censuses and death certificates......Teresa KELLY was born approximately 1832 in Canada. On subsequent censuses, all of Teresa's children stated their mother was born in Fr. Canada which I'm assuming means Quebec. Teresa's parents are listed as being born in Ireland. Teresa married Daniel HAVERTY who is listed on censuses as being born in Ireland, sometime in the late 1840's-50's? Their first daughter was born in New York City, USA (per census also...can't locate birth/baptismal certificate) around that time also. The rest of the children were born in Hudson County, New Jersey,USA. The death certificate for Teresa states her fathers name was James KELLY, born in Ireland. The mothers name is listed as Margaret with no maiden name and she also was born in Ireland. Daniel HAVERTY must have died around 1876 since the last child was born in 1874 and Daniel ceased to be listed in the Jersey City, New Jersey, USA city directory and Teresa was subsequently listed as widow of Daniel in 1877. There is no death certificate or obituary for Daniel. None of the birth/death marriage certificates or obituaries for Teresa or any of the children give me any further clue as to the Canadian origin or the Irish one either. Thanks, Janet
