Hello! I am new to the listgroup, and I'd like to share my research question. I'm looking for information on the family (particularly ancestors) of Sylvester J. KELLY of Auburn, NY. He was apparently a stationary engineer (?) at the NY Dept of Corrections Auburn Prison. He married Jane Murphy prior to 1876 and had seven children (Sylvester, James, John, Edward, Bernard, Michael, and Genevieve). I have a little bit of information about the children (mostly Genevieve, my g-grandmother), but I'd like to find out where Sylvester came from. I'd appreciate any details about the family, or suggestions for finding information about Catholic Kelly's in 19th century New York. Thanks! Valerie Burke DeLeon
