Author: brendathegray Surnames: Kelley, Phipps Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kelley/5079/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for any information on the parents of Ezekiel R Kelley born in New York in Jan 1833 living in Cattaraugus Co, New York, Maine, Broome, New York, Redhouse, Cattaraugus, New York and married to Olive Chase. He has a brother named David and one named Fred. I found a gedcom on Family Search that said his father was Ross Kelley born 1797 New York but the census for E R say his father was born in Rhode Island. The gedcom says his mother was Patty Phipps born May 11, 1805 and I have found a census with his brother and mother Patty. Any help would be truly appreciated. Author: judy4890 Surnames: Kelley, Horton Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kelley/4927.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: John H Kelley, Nancy and children are in the 1850 Wayne County TN census. They are listed next to a James Horton whose age is right for him to be a brother of Nancy. For some brief info when and how John H Kelley and family traveled to AR go to USGENWEB, Searcy County AR page. Do a search of the "Old Settlers letters". There is a letter by a Mr Gray stating he came with the Kelley family from TN to AR. They crossed the Mississippi River at Memphis, TN on a barge. James H, son of John, and Nancy Jane Beavers were married on the trip. Family tradition says they were married in the middle of the Mississippi River. I don't recall that 1850 census data you mention so will go back to that and I believe I will publish this brick wall again also. Author: Leftysam Surnames: Kelley Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kelley/5076/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Benjamin was born in Ledyard, Cayuga Co., NY in October 1828 to a Heman and Ruth (Lapham) Kelley. Benjamin married a Jane Marshall in 1848 in Indiania They had a son Marchall born around 1850 to Jane and Benjamin. Marshall married a Mary Ann ? in Brown Co., Ks. Jane died in 1850 and in 1854 Benjamin married a Margaret Ann Hendricks in Indiania. They had a daughter Flora in 1856 in Iowa, she married a lawyer, A. R. May in Hiawatha, Brown Co., Ks. They also had a son Charles born March 1860 in Kansas, he married a Emma Ann Dowell in 1881 in Brown Co., Ks. Benjamin was a Judge in Hiawatha,Ks untill he moved his family to Santa Ana, Orange Co., Ca where he was a Judge. I don't think Flora and her family went to California, nor did Marshall and his family, only Charles and his family moved with Ben and Margaret. At the time of Judge Benjamin Kelley's death on September 16th, 1914, Margaret survived him. (Marshall was the only surviving child living. Flora and Charles ! had died within the past seven years.) Their were four Grandchildren still living at Benjamin's funeral, they were Leslie R. May, Bulah May, Mrs George (Clara Kelley) Shope, and Louie H. Kelley. Would like to hear from descendants of these people. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: pekelly14 Surnames: Kelley, Kelly Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kelley/5073.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm not related to Olga and Henry Kelley; but, through research, I expect that they are either the children of Howard A. Kelly and Laetitia E. Kelly in Baltimore, MD; or, the children of Henry V. Kelley and Mary L. Kelley in Payne, Kansas. If they are the children of Howard and Laetitia Kelly, then Olga E. Kelly was born around 1891 and Henry was born around 1893 in Maryland. Howard was born around 1859 in Pennsylvania and Laetitia was born around 1863 in Germany. You will find the family, including other children in both the 1900 and 1910 U.S. Census; but, due to the handwriting in th 1910 Census, Kelly appears as Helly in some searches. If they are the children of Henry and Mary Kelley, then the children's real names are Olga E. Kelley (born 1898) and Harold G. Kelley (born 1900). Both children were born in Kansas. In the 1910 U.S. Census, you will see that there are more siblings; but, in the 1930 U.S. Census, only Olga and Harold (now grown) are still living with ! their parents. Henry and Harold are farmers. Henry V. Kelley was born in 1865 in Indiana. His parents are Joseph and Bermelia Kelley, who were both born around 1826. You can see their family, including Henry's other siblings in the 1870 Census. They were living in Highland, Indiana at that time. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
