Hi! I'm just starting out on this so please forgive any breech of protocol. I am looking for information on the net about my ancestors. My fathers name was Benjiman Jerry Kelley and his mother was Annie Pearl Bryant. I believe his father's name was Major(?) Earl Kelley. At one time, they lived in the Wahalla area of SC but evidently moved to Greenville at some point after my grandfathers death. I believe he died sometime in the 40s or 50s. Anyway, I am trying to trace from my grandparents back but don't seem to find anything other the my father's and grandmother's entries in the Master Death List. Any help appreciated! -- Ed Kelley

Hello, This is my first posting to the Kelly List, and I hope to do many more. I have been tracking my KELLY and MURPHY family for eight years, and am up against the "proverbial" brick wall. Thomas MURPHY and his new wife left County Mayo, Ireland in 1831 or 1832, and settled in Mayo, Quebec, Canada. This whole town in Canada was settled by Irish, most of them from County Mayo. It is reportedly very much like Ireland. In later years they even built a Shrine and named it, OUR LADY OF KNOCK. Thomas' brother Patrick and his sister Mary emmigrated also, as did other Mayo citizens named LAVELL, BURKE, DUNNIGAN, KELLY, O'NEILL, Mc DONNELL, Mc ANDREW and others. Thomas' parents, James Murphy and Mary BURKE remained in Ireland. I believe Catherine's did also, but I do not know. I have been trying to find the parish or townland where they came from, but I have been unable to find this in the Quebec records. The only reference has been to their coming from the Parish of Kilbourn, which apparently does not exist There are difficulties sometimes with the translation from French to English, and records are kept in French up there. I am hopeful that these people sound familiar to one of you folks, Or perhaps somebody has an idea on how I can locate these missing relatives? Any and all ideas will be welcomed. Hello, I have been searching for information on a family which would have included Willa KELLEY who married Presley DAVIS 26 June 1831 in Edgar Co, Illinois. I believe a brother of hers married Presley's sister, Mary DAVIS. Willa was b. ca 1816 in Maria, Marion Co, North Carolina. Anyone have any information on this family? Sue

Dolway / Dolloway / Dolaway / Dolwan was most likely born in the Belfast area in the mid 1830's. He was by trade a baker who arrived in Canada before November 1860. He married a Catherine McDonnell / McDonald in Montreal at Erskine Presbyterian in November 1860. HI Is anyone out there researching any Kellys that lived in Fall River MA? I keep finding lots of them in Cemeteries and City DIrectories but cannot connect them to mine. The only one of mine is Hannah Kelly b. England 1854 to Patrick and Anna Kelly.Hannah came to Fall RIver in 1874 and I'm prety sure Patrick and/or Anna came as well but canot find any evidence. Here's my Kelley line as far as I have been able to trace them: My gggrandparents were Aquilla Galloway and Mary Elizabeth Kelley b. 28 Apr 1826 b. 22 Oct 1833 married 11 May 1852 d. 25 Sep 1879 d. 10 Aug 1905 They lived and died in area north of Baltimore, buried in Cockeysville, MD. Mary's parents were: Joseph Kelley and Mary Parks marrried 15 Feb 1828 b. 9 Oct 1795 d. 2 Dec 1881 Joseph came from: Thomas Deye Kelley and Charity Gorsuch b. 13 Jul 1760 Thomas's parents: James Kelley and Prudence Logsdon b. Mar 1735-Ireland b. 1712 d. 1779 James came from: James Kelley and Mary __________. Help Needed with this family, please let me know if you can add any information to the following: John Kelley (I know nothing else about this man, I am told this is his name) was the father of: John William Kelley Born:1813 in S.Carolina. He died on 12/15/1890 and is buried at Bridge Creek Cemetery-Colquitt County,Ga. He married Martha MABRY (spelling?) in 1837. Martha was born in 1812 in S.Carolina and died on 12/17/1898, she is buried next to her husband. John W. kelley moved his family from S. Carolina to Dekalb County, Alabama in abt. 1839. He then moved his family to the eighth land district of Thomas County,Georgia, which is now Colquitt County, from Alabama in approximately 1842. He settled just east of the present town of Bay and near the Thigpin Trail and was a large and prosperous farmer with his primary interest being in cultivated crops. Although he was too old to serve in the Civil War, he did participate in local militia drills. They had the following children: James Irwin-born 1838 in S.C. Eliza Ann-1840 near Dothan,Alabama Martha Elizabeth abt.1841 near Dothan,Ala. Missouri-1843 Bay,Ga. Thomas County, Ga. Harriett Emmaline-1845 Bay,Ga. John Thomas-1847 Bay,Ga. Susan- 1849 Bay,Ga. Timothy-1850 Bay,Ga. Saphrona(Fronnie)-5/1853 Bay,Ga. Martha Elizabeth married Hardin Hancock. Missouri married Henry Murphy. John Thomas married Mary Hancock (daughter of James E. Hancock) on 12/2/1869. He died on 1-14-1925. Susan Kelley married a Mr. McClandon. Harriett Emmaline Kelley married Isaiah BARTON .
