Hello, It has been awhile since I posted this so I will post it again. These Kelley/Kelly's seem to all have been illusive considering all I have read in this mailing list. My illusive Kelly was Edward Kelly...could have been Kelley....born 1820 somewhere in New Jersey. His mother was born in New Jersey, and his father was born in Ireland. I have no names on either, nor do I have any information on siblings. Edward moved to Mercer Co, Ohio, Center Township, town of Neptune. He moved there sometime between the taking of the i850 census and his marriage in May 1854 to Elizabeth Poling. Elizabeth Poling died probably in 1860 after the birth of twins? Amos and Anna Kelly. The reason I have the question mark there is because different census' have thewe two listed as being born in the same year and also being born in different years. Other children were William Kelly, 1856, Emma Kelly, 1858. Sometime between 1860 and 1870, Edward remarried. He married Catherine Sheets. She was supposedly Elizabeth's sister, but I have no record of any of this. Catherine brought 4 children to the marriage, all Sheets. Also listed as living with the Edward Kelly family was Mary Jane Fast, born 1848. We do not have any clue as to when she came to live with the family or under what circumstances. We do know that she married William Kelly in 1890. They had two children: Elizabeth, 1891; and Edward R. born in 1892. The records of Edward R. list him as Ruchus E. Kelly. He never went by that name however. William's sister, Anna, married a Stauffer, lived in the St. Mary's Ohio area, and raised 7 children there. We have no information on Emma or Amos. William and Mary Jane were my great grandparents. Any information anyone may have on this family would be greatly appreciated. Especially on the New Jersey/Ireland portion.... Thanks, Cindy
Hello, I am searching for information on a Willa KELLEY b. ca 1816 in Maria, Marion County, North Carolina. She married Presley DAVIS 26 June 1831 in Edgar County, Illinois. Looking for info on Jacob Kelley who was on 1860 Lauderdale County, MS., census. Jacob was listed as born in GA and 75 years old. His wife, Lucy, also from GA was 70. Thanks
Hi everybody! I wasn't gonna, but I gotta! I'm hopelessly, and helplessly stuck! Since the beginning of the year I have been trying to find my husbands(and my) family trees. I'm not doing toooooo bad, but the Kelleys are a pretty elusive bunch! I am looking for siblings and ancestors of Lawrence Francis Kelley, born in Marshalltown Iowa 17 february 1922, died Des Moines Iowa 9 march 1964 - married to Jeanette Irene Morey in Nebraska in 1952. His father was Benjamin Francis Kelley born Marshalltown Iowa on 23 august 1890, died there on 19 april 1927 - married to Iris Zerelda Tuffree 29 november 1910. Mike's Great grandfather was Timothy James Kelley, born about 1856 possibly in Pensylvania died around 1889 in Rhodes Iowa, married to Louise Wilhelmine Johanna Sietmann, born in Mecklenburg Germany, buried in Marshalltown Iowa. if anyone knows anything, I'd be very happy. There is a Keith Kelley out there, somewhere, presumably family, but Mike doesn't remember anyone by that name being a member of the family. Keith if you read this, give a scream anyway! Also, I have been reading this list for a while now, and boy, there's a lot of you out there! Hope we can help eachother, although it looks like my treelimb is a lonely one :-) Hope to hear from someone soon, Pauli van den Heuvel-Kelley mlk@aci.net
Hello, I am seeking to identify and locate the parents of John Kelley born somewhere in NC, married in KY 1815 to Desdemonia (Desdemondia) Brown. Also trying to locate dates and children for John and Desdemonia as well as the place of their deaths. I do know that at least one child, James Brown Kelley born in KY 21 Oct 1819 ended up in IN by 1850 and then IA before 1860. Does any of this ring a bell with you. Also, my branch of the Kelley family seems to have migrated to the same places at about the same time from IN to IA to NE and to have been associated with the McConnell, Coffman (Coughman), and Bohall families. Greetings, Salutations, and Hiya! Three things for ya'll.... First, being new to this list I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Adrian John Wesley Kelley Jr. I've been working on my branch of the Kelley tree since my father died in 1981 but haven't put too much effort into my research until recently. The reason for my renewed interest is the impending birth of my first child.... Second, again since I'm new, could someone tell me where to find the FAQ for this list? Last but certainly not list... HELP! The major stumbling block I'm running up against now is the complete lack of contact I've had with my father's family over the past... 17 years or so.... I currently need info on my father's father... ROSS DEWEY KELLEY born 1888 died 1980, spent most if not all of his life in South Carolina.... Specificly what I need are names (and dates if available) of RD's parents and children (yes, ROSS DEWEY was usually called RD). My thanks in advance. /\_/\ Adrian J. Is anyone tracking Kelly from Taunton, Massachusetts? I am still trying to track down the following Kelly. John KELLY, b. abt. 1830 in Kerry > America abt. 1860 = Mary LOONEY, b. abt. 1830 in Kerry > America abt. 1860 Have found them in the Taunton, Massachusetts 1880 Census and have exausted each and every possible lead from this side of the pond -- birth, baptisimal, marriage and death certificates for all their children; and the death certificates for John and Mary. Nothing! Because the names are so common, I am having a devil of a time finding their birthplace in Kerry. If anyone is tracking a Kelly or a Looney who lived in Taunton, Mass., I would really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks so much. Ellen in RI

Hello all, We are new to the list. My wife and I are beginning genealogy enthusiasts! My mother's mother was a Kelley, Lora Elizabeth Kelley, to be exact, born in Indianapolis, lived in Mi and Ca. It is her grandfather where we need some help. Here are the Kelley names we have: = Lora Elizabeth Kelley , b 23 Mar 1914 in Indianapolis, IN. = James Albert Kelley, b 23 Oct 1885 in Pawnee Rock, KS Married to Ruth Ora Jarrell. = James Albert Kelley, b 1853 place unknown. Died in 1943. Married to Mary Quinn of Ireland. This is really it so far. Lora had several brothers and sisters whose names I have. The first James Albert is Lora's father and the second is her grandfather. There is a lot of speculation and rumor handed down about the Kelley family on our side, but none has been proven. One in particular is the the Kelley who came over from Ireland was a big red-headed man who married a Pawnee Indian Squaw. Can't see where this will happen. I know Mary Quinn was Irish, and I knew Ruth Jarrell, my great grandmother and she was certainly not native American. Just a side note: My great grandmother was the last Kelley in our line alive (actually she just had the name by marriage, but anyway) and she was very old and near death when my wife and I were expecting our first. We named our first daughter Kelley Marie in honor of the name. Unfortunately our little Kelley only lived to be 2 years old and died of a congenital heart defect. But, needless to say, this line has sentimental ties for us. Thanks all! Larry and Tracy Huffman
