    3. >From Mike Kelly Sydney Australia profned@bigpond.com I am looking for cousins who are descendants of MICHAEL JOS KELLY Born FEB 20 1866 in KINGSTOWN DUBLIN His parents were William John Kelly and Jane Brooke. He went to Boston about 1890 and, I believe, he had a very large birthday party at the age of 70 (1936). There was a picture of him and his many descendants in a local paper on this occasion. Our line is from Ballinasloe, Gal and is probably descended from the Kellys of Cloncannon. Thanking you, Mike

    3. OK, I'll bite. I am looking for the descendents of William Kelley b. 1670 in Ireland and came to VA. I know he had a son named James, born about 1700, who had a son named John, born about 1730. John married Elizabeth Harper. Their issue were Mary, Patty, Susanna, Elizabeth, Sylvia, William, Anna, Lucretia & John. William, born April 06, 1758 is my line. He married married Rebecca Jennings and moved to Pendleton District, SC, which is where the rest of my line came from. I suspect that thru either the children of William (1670) or his James (1700), that a number of different Kelley lines I am researching come together. However, I have no clue to who those other children may be. -- Ed Kelley

    1. Texas Kelleys
    2. My elusive KELLEYs are from Central Texas. My grandfather died at a very young age, and my grandmother remarried, so we seem to have lost some of the family history. Samuel Frank KELLEY was born 1906, died 1934, and is the only KELLEY buried in the Patrick Cemetery in China Springs, McLennan County, TX. His headstone has his name, the years of his life, and the inscription "Son of John." He had at least 2 brothers, Robert and Floyd, born in 1905 and 1907 (not sure which is which - my mom didn't keep good notes...) He may have had a sister named Anna (or she may have been the wife of either Robert or Floyd) and possibly a brother named Wullard. His wife, my grandmother, was Willie Marie GARRETT. They had 2 daughters: Rose Marie (my mom) and Daisy. I'd like to find out about "John" and his wife, who I believe was still living at the time of SF's death. If any of this sounds familiar, I'd sure like to hear from you. Nikki

    1. Most Wanted Kellys
    2. Hi and Happy Holidays to all, I have found a bit more on our lost Kellys since I posted to the list, and some of what I thought I knew turns out to be incorrect. First, we have 1. He married MARY KELEHER2,3, daughter of PATRICK KALAHER and NORA NESTOR. More About MICHAEL C. History of the State of Nebraska, A. T. Andreas, 1882. Connected to this family somehow is . MOLLY1 FITZGERALD was born in Ireland. She married WILLIAM KELLY, b. Ireland.. Notes for WILLIAM KELLY: May have died in Colorado working in the mines. Child of MOLLY FITZGERALD and WILLIAM KELLY is: i. MARY THERESA2 KELLY1, b. 23 October 1888, Greenwood, Cass Co., NE; d. 27 November 1964, Omaha, Douglas Co., NE; m. CHARLES LEROY WHITE. More About MARY THERESA KELLY: Cause of Death: bleeding gastric ulcer w/ pneumoniti & CHF Endnotes 1. Certificate of Death, Nebraska #64 12865. Mary Theresa is listed as the daughter of Michael and Mary, and claimed to be the daughter of William and Mary, with Mary marrying her brother in law Michael after the death of her husband. She was raised by Mary and Michael, and was undoubtably related to them, but we're just not sure of the connection yet. It is probable that Michael and William were brothers, perhaps twins. There were probably other children in each of these families, except that of Mary and Michael, who raised only Mary Theresa and Edward. Thanks for wading through all of this, I hope we find some other branches of this tree. Happy Holidays, Jo Newkirk-Hornecker

My KELLEY is Catherine Kelly born about 1804 in County Mayo Ireland. She married Thomas MURPHY and they immediately immigrated to Quebec about 1830, and lived there in Mayo, Quebec raising ten children. She died 04 September 1878. Since I last wrote to the list I have found that the parish in Ireland where Catherine and Thomas came from is KILFIAN. I am seeking the Townland. I also have found that Catherine's parents and brother came to Canada with her and Thomas. Her parents were James KELLY and Ann FOSTER. I have not been able to find much on them YET, but at one point (1841) they were living in Plantegenet, Ontario. Catherine's brother (James and Ann's son) was Thomas Francis Kelly. He married Thomas Murphy's sister Mary in 1841. That is the total of my knowledge of my KELLYS as of now. If any of this fits into your line, please contact me. I wish all of you a very wonderful holiday season. May you each find a new Kelly ancestor in your Christmas stocking. (Oh, if only it were that easy.) Nancy MURPHY BALDWIN
